Hi all,
I have tried the doc/manual and the archives and yes, I did find a good deal of reference to this functionality but somehow, I am not able to get it to work.
I have created a moderated list by turning 'moderated_flag= yes' in rc.custom but I am having problem submitting the approved post. As the designated moderator, I get the email with the original post but all my subsequent submissions tagged with 'Approved: my_email_id pwd' are coming back to me as it is. I have tried following but without any luck (all without quotes): 'Approved: my_email pwd' in subject 'Approved: my_email pwd' in body, as first line 'Approved: my_email' in subject 'Approved: my_email' in body, as first line
Could someone please help me.
Thanks Nishi

How did you add the Approved header exactly? What are the settings for moderator_PASSWORD and moderated_flag in rc.custom? What's in the moderators file?

I'm using the script below as rc.local.s10 and on the first line of the *body* of the message I type:
Approved: pwd
Script:
:0 HB * H ?? !^Approved: * B ?? ^/Approved:.*[^ ] * $!^X-Loop: $\listaddr { # Remove the Approved from the body, and insert it in the header :0 fw | grep -v "^Approved:" | formail -I"$MATCH" }

I am adding 'Approved: nkapoor@c3ipros.com' in subject of the email. (I have tried 'Approved: nkapoor@c3ipros.com' as the first line of the message body also)
What are the settings for moderator_PASSWORD and moderated_flag in rc.custom?
#moderated_flag moderated_flag= yes # uncomment this to make the list #moderator_PASSWORD = # put the optional password for RC_LOCAL_SUBMIT_10 = rc.local.s10 # call up customised local scripts RC_LOCAL_SUBMIT_20 = rc.local.s20 # at predefined points.
What's in the moderators file?
nkapoor@xcelenergy.com nkapoor@c3ipros.com

I am using rc.local.s10 that was there already i.e.
0 * !^Approved * B ?? ^Approved { # Extract the first 'Approve' from the body APPROVE="`grep '^Approved' | head -1`"
# Filter it from the body, and add it to the header 0 fw | grep -v "^Approved" | formail -I"$APPROVE" }

Hi Rene,
I set the moderator_PASSWORD and used the rc_local_s10 that you had sent and it seems to work. Thanks. I have a couple of more questions, though.
- Is it possible to differentiate between the mails as to which one is waiting approval and which ones are approved ? As a moderator, first I get a mail for approval and then another one as a subscriber to mailing-list. I am expecting to see something like 'Approval required for <reason>' in subject field, similar to majordomo.
- After approving when I send it back to mailing-list, how do I put the original sender, date, subject and all the other relevant headers back ? Do I need to cut and paste or is there a better way ?
