All, I am trying to use rc.local.s10.mhonarc from http://www.ha-schneider.de/software/smartlist/ to set up an archive for a mailing list. I have renamed rc.local.s10.mhonarc to rc.local.s30 and added following line to rc.custom RC_LOCAL_SUBMIT_30 = rc.local.s30 rc.local.s10 and rc.local.s20 are already in use and since I do not know how to merge the recipe in rc.local.s10.mhonarc with either of the two, I renamed it to rc.local.s30 and added a new line in rc.custom. Could someone please help me understand as to how it all works. Thanks Nishi

Archive egrep

modify the subscribe/unsubscribe-mail

hi! how can i modyfiy the text for the automatic subscribe/unsubscribe-mail? The possibilities of a *subscribe.txt*-file in my folder are not enough for me. But you're right, it's been _years_ since he's been around. However, the list belongs to the maintainer (or at least the machine's admin), not the members. You'll get no argument from me that the list should be moved (I believe I said exactly that a couple of times), but to suggest the admins need to take a poll to ask what they may or may not do with the existing list is silly, to say the least. They are certainly able to move this list to mailman without the list subscriber's permission - indeed, they _have_ done so, which makes my point for me. Whether we should move this list to a SmartList server is a completely seperate issue...one which Philip should probably weigh in on, since he is now maintaining the procmail/SmartList source and as such the de facto head of our band of merry wanderers... real names

Installing SmartList

What does this mean mail_list/slist is owned by gid 110!=100, please fix this first I get this when I try to run sh install.sh /mail_list/slist I have the directory chow slist and the group set properly this is what it looks like in a ls -al drwxrwxr-x 2 slist home 1024 Aug 22 01:11 slist home is the group name for this user -- Best regards, Richard mailto:rkurth@starband.net

Question about installing smartlist

Can I install a second version of procmail to work with smartlist that will not interfere with the other version that is running on the server. The reason I ask this is I am running a Sun Cobalt Raq Server And it has procmail working with sendmail and majordomo on the server already I don't what to break that and I can not upgrade the version of procmail because it will break the Cobalt GUI. I want to use smartlist also on the server so is this possible will it still read the email's and send them to the proper mailing list. minbounce - how to unset it ?

I need to let the subscribers stay subscribed no matter how many emails bounce from their account. Would assigning minbounce to a blank value as follows do it ? minbounce = # no. of bounces before removal Thanks Nishi
