Smartlist README says that smartlist files have to be unpacked in the procmail source directory. The latest procmail version is 3.15 and the latest smartlist version is 3.13. Smartlist untars into procmail-3.13 directory while procmail upacks into 3.15 directory.
My question is, which version of procmail should I get to make sure it is compatible with the latest smartlist? I would like to use the latest procmail version if possible. Thanks.
SmartList version 3.15 will be released Real Soon Now: there's just one bugfix that's awaiting confirmation as correct. I would expect it out within a week.
If you need to install SmartList *now*, I would recommend using the 3.15 prerelease, found at ftp://ftp.procmail.org/pub/procmail/testing/SmartList-3.15pre.tar.gz
That'll untar under procmail-3.15pre, but you can combine it with procmail-3.15 by running something like:
mv procmail-3.15pre/src/* procmail-3.15/src mv procmail-3.15pre/SmartList/* procmail-3.15/SmartList rm -rf procmail-3.15pre
