I have received a request, for IFIP tecnhical co-sponsorship of the ICN'06 conference from the organizer (Prof. Alain Sentini). The conference is already technically sponsored by IEEE. The conference will take place in Mauricius. More information can be found at: http://www.iaria.org/conferences/ICN06.html http://www.iaria.org/conferences/ICN06.html
Mauricius information society is already member of IFIP, but we don't have a representative at TC6. Prof Nawaz Mohamudally at the Technical University of Mauritius has interest in Networks and might be interested in becoming TC6 national delegate.
Let me know, if you want me to pursue further the above two possibilities, i.e., what WGs are interested in endorsing ICN 2006 and if we want to invite Prof. Nawaz to become a TC6 delegate.
Regards
Raouf

Salut Rauf,
a+ Alain

Dear Raouf,
first: happy new year 2006 to you!

I encourage you to proceed with that initiative. A delegate from Mauritius (with a perspective to have a TC6 meeting there in some foreseeable future :-) ) would be excellent.
Checking the ICN'06 website, I couldn't find too much concrete information about concrete conference topics. The event is already very near (April 23-26, 2006). Thus if no TC6 WG has expressed concrete interest then we could contirbute in this first case as "TC6" (i.e. not specifically as a WG).
Best regards Otto
Dear Raouf,
I am also willing to provide some assistance if needed. We have daily flights to Mauritius from Johannesburg and perhaps I can assist with a Tutorial or canvas for delegates via our Computer Society? But, it seems to me that the programme has already been finalized ?
Regards and have a GREAT 2006.
Koos.
