Dear all,
I've just learned that Koos has resigned from his position as South African delegate in TC6.
The South African society has nominated Pieter Kritzinger. I know Pieter as a WG6.1 representative and have already welcomed him in TC6.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Koos for his long term involvement in TC6 (in fact he was already there in 1998 when I joined as WG6.1 chair and I don't know when he actually joined TC6). I hope we will all meet him again at our TC6 meeting in South Africa in 2008.
Best regards, Guy

Guy
I am sorry we could not meet at the IFIP Council meeting in London last week - I however did welcome you in your absence!
Again, welcome as the new Chairperson of TC 6. I trust you will have a very enjoyable and productive period as Chair.
In SA we have accepted the resignation of Koos Koen, our long standing representative on TC 6, and have appointed Prof Pieter Kritzinger as the new representative. I trust that TC 6 will be happy to officially accept Pieter as our national representative from SA.
Hope to meet you at the GA meeting in August.
Regards
Basie von Solms

Dear all,
I've just learned that Koos has resigned from his position as South African delegate in TC6.
The South African society has nominated Pieter Kritzinger. I know Pieter as a WG6.1 representative and have already welcomed him in TC6.
This is apparently one of the first actions of the new president-elect of IFIP. More such actions will probably follow. I wonder whether this was Koos' own decision. Anyway, I had expected that we would have been informed by Koos first about this decision.
I would like to thank Koos personally for all the work done for TC6 (Koos is still a member of our exploder list as long as we don't have the full coordinates of Pieter Kritzinger whom we of course know very well).
Guy (L): I suppose that the TC6 delegate list is maintained by you from now on; you have the most recent document. I will insert Pieter in the email exploder when I get his email address.
BTW: Some days ago our delegate from Slowenia (Janez Bester; we have never seen him personally) has (or was) unsubscribed from our email exploder. Thus we should seek for a new Slowenian delegate, I had already contacted several times Niko Schlamberger (IFIP GA representative from Slowenia) about this.
Best regards Otto
Dear Guy, Otto and all TC6 delegates,
Sorry for not informing you personally first about my intentions to "retire" from TC6 but I was waiting on the local IFIP committee to approve Pieter Kritzinger's appointment and Basie informed Guy before I could do so to all of you.
Anyway, it was time to get some new blood on board and also to hand over to someone who is permanently involved in the Academy and in Communications System. I have been teaching part-time at Wits Business School, which is somewhat removed from the Academic focus of IFIP and where it is thus also difficult to obtain funding in this regard.
I knew Peter for a long time and we have been running some very successful conferences and I am sure he will be a big asset as the SA delegate on TC6. I wish him a great and productive term.
I will try to attend the 2007/2 meeting in September but Pieter will be there to present our proposal for the 2008/2 meeting in South Africa. I will see you in 2008 anyway.
May I thus say thank-you for a great experience, the "Outstanding Service" award and all the good times we had over the last 25 years.
There are some huge challenges for TC and IFIP ahead and I wish you all of the best in facing these successfully.
Stay in touch.
Best regards and thanks for the messages I received so far.
Koos.
