To: IFIP GA reps., TC & WG Chairs cc. IFIP Member Societies Subject: IFIP's publisher continues under ownership of financial investors
Wolters Kluwer has decided to sell Kluwer Academic Publishers (KAP) to Candover and Cinven, two private equity funds based in London. KAP will continue its activities as they are right now, meeting the needs of its customers, authors and other stakeholders. Candover and Cinven are highly enthusiastic about KAP's prospects as a business in its current form and under the leadership of the existing management team. They wish to provide KAP with the financial resources it needs to grow and thereby participate in its success, together with its management and employees. A small part of KAP's management is investing alongside Candover and Cinven, underlining the belief in a healthy development of the company.
KAP is the principal IFIP publisher since 1998 when Wolters Kluwer purchased Chapman & Hall.
