Sponsors*: Technical Co-Sponsorship by IEEE TCCC and Nokia (*pending approval)
The rapid increase in network line speeds and the expanding functional requirements in modern
communication networks call for innovative designs and technologies that provide sustained
high-throughput with greater flexibility and short time-to-market. New components such as
network processors, hardware accelerators, reconfigurable logic, content addressable memories
offer potential solutions, but also raise new challenges.
The computer architecture for networking and communication (CANC) track provides a forum
for sharing advanced academic and industrial research work focused on emerging technologies
that address these challenges. Authors are invited to submit original and previously unpublished
work on architectural support for advanced communication, novel designs for new network
algorithms, protocols and applications; software development for next-generation networking
architectures; methodology and benchmarking for evaluating advanced communication architectures.
Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
* Network/communication processors * Application development and compilation on network/communication processors * Processor/thread scheduling * Link scheduling, switch scheduling * Co-processors acceleration * Router architectures * Switch fabrics/interconnection networks * Memory hierarchy in network architectures * Secure communication * Content inspection and filtering * Traffic characterization * Packet classification * Tools, simulators and benchmarks * Energy-efficient designs
