The Semantic Web is within the scope of WG 6.4. For example, WWW is one of the premier conferences for the Semantic Web, and this conference is a WG 6.4 conference.

Dear TC6 members,
In the last IFIP GA TC12 (Articial Intelligence) proposed new aims and scope for its WGs. I would like to be sure that you have no problem with this proposal before I approve it from TC6 side. My main question is with WG 12.4 (Semantic Web). Is there an overlap with WG 6.4?
Please send me your comments until the end of September. I thank that you send your comments with cc to the TC6 list.

Following the discussion at the recent Technical Assembly, I am sending you copies of the two documents I presented at the meeting (as two Word 2000 attachments). One gives amplified Aims and Scope for TC12. The other gives the Aims and Scope for the TC's working groups in the revised structure.
Please let me know by October 30th at the latest if you would like any of the wording of these documents changed. Please copy any reply to Basie von Solms (basie@rkw.rau.ac.za).
