Dear TC6 Member,
As announced in my Email of August 4, we established in Beijing the list of
eligible people taking into account the first three conditions:
- national representative
- attendance to at least one TC6 meeting among Hungary, Paris and Beijing
- conference organiser.
Here is this list by alphabetical order of the country represented
Posch Reinhard
Danthine Andre
Sousa Jose Neuman de
Boyanov Kiril
Mason Lorne
Hu Dao-Yan
Iversen Villy
Hara Veikko
Tohme Samir
Spaniol Otto
Dibuz Sarolta
Saito Tadao
Aagesen Fin
Casaca Augusto
Koen Koos
Puigjaner Ramon
Khakhar Dipak
Rudin Harry
Kamoun Farouk
Following the procedure presented in my Email of August 4, I ask all the
people of this list to confirm their willingness to stay on the ballot.
Staying on the ballot means, of course, a commitment
- to attend all the meetings of TC6 and
- to participate regularly in the Council and General Assembly meetings.
In order to avoid any problem, I invite also all the people on this list
who are not willing to stay on the ballot to clearly indicate their
position.
When the list of willing eligible people will be ready, we will start the
next step.
Best regards
Andre

Dear colleagues,
we have had a really excellent TC6 meeting near Beijing
(sometimes a little boring with all the bureaucratical steering committees,
flagships,... but also with some heated emotional atmosphere during the
final hour ouf the meeting).
Everybody who could not attend has missed a great event which was
perfectly organised! Very soon you will have the possibility to
look at some photos on the web; these will convince you that you should
try your best in order to attend meeting 2001/1 in Capetown, South
Africa; this meeting has been rescheduled towards May 30+31, 2001.
According to several requests I take the opportunity to distribute my
poem for Prof. Hu Dao-Yuan and for Carol. This poem was presented at the
meeting dinner and was until now only available in a handwritten version
(written by me during some less interesting WG restructuring discussions).
Best regards
Otto Spaniol

Poem for Prof.Hu Daoyuan and for Carol
Dear delegates, I'll have to tell you
some stories of our famous Hu.
Hu is a doctor, even more:
Hu is a brilliant professor (!)
of university Tsinghua
Where Hu does research on the newer
and even newest types of networks.
You can remark how fast his head works!
Hu is the man who always keeps
quite cool when Ramon sleeps.
Hu don't complain because there are
two names "Lyman" and "Iyengar".
Both from US whereas for China
the delegate number is minor.
Hu didn't make a serious case on
some comments made by Lorne Mason
who is now - that is not so poor -
our Canadian man in Singapur.
Hu claims that he has never seen
a Belgium man like A. Danthine.
Hu even (at the end of summer)
survived the speech of Volker Tschammer.
Hu listened in the afternoon
to bullshit told by Koosie Koen.
Hu thinks that he could still afford
the boring loans and grants report
which fills up (to the very end)
something around eighty percent
of meeting time. That's very strange.
Augusto: Here we need a change!
Hu was not even much afraid of
the Eastern jokes of K. Boyanov.
Hu even tolerates the loops
when we restructure working groups.
Hu listens to the "finance" which
merely shows that we are rich
what is quite good and sweet like honey:
We cannot even spend our money!
Hu really felt extremely lucky
when "group one" chairman Guy Leduc(ky)
stopped after much time had expired
without a sign of being tired.
Hu knows where to arrange the meeting.
Hu knows how to select the eating.
Hu satisfied the group of all
by taking us to the Great Wall.
Hu cares about the protocol.
Hu's caretaker is called Carol.
She solves the problems in a while
and always with a pretty smile.
Now as a sign of appreciation
I want to give a small donation
from a country which (you see)
is missing in our committee.
The bottle which is in my hands
has been produced in Netherlands.
It is some kind of alcoholics
but it contains also symbolics
since its colour - not so bad -
is China's flag, namely its red.
Thus as a TC6 past chairman
but also as a silly German
I say to Hu and to Carol:
"You did a great job, Yes! Jawoll!"
