Dear all,
there is a request for the nomination of people who should get an OSA (outstanding service award); see below.
Proposals for such nominations are welcome.
Best regards Otto

Dear TC Chairs,
This award was created in 1987 by the IFIP General Assembly. As you can see in the rules (Standing Orders 6.2) the prime responsibility for nominations lies with TC Chairmen.
On behalf of the chairman of the Internal Awards Committee Roger Johnson I invite you to nominate members of your TC or its Working Groups whose contribution to IFIP you wish to recognize and who you deem eligible to receive the OSA. Please send me details of your nominee(s) prior to our GA meeting in Gaborone including information about how they satisfy the selection criteria.
You will see that the annual number of awards is limited to twenty. In the unlikely event that the total number of submissions exceeds that number it is the responsibility of the IAC to rank them in priority sequence using the information you provide and hence select the award winners.
The list will be reviewed by the Internal Awards Committee Chair with you immediately before the GA for any final adjustments and then submitted to the GA for formal approval.
The OSA certificates will be signed by the President and yourself and subsequently presented to the winners in the way you deem to be most appropriate.
A list of OSA Award holders is available at http://www.ifip.or.at/bulletin/b_osa.htm
Best regards
Eduard Dundler
