Dear Colleagues,
EuroNGI is pleased to invite you to contribute to NGI 2005.
NGI 2005 is the first conference organized by the European Network of Excellence EURO NGI to provide an international forum for the presentation of high quality, peer-reviewed papers relating to the modelling, design and engineering of the Next Generation Internet.
The conference is technically sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society and accepted papers will be published electronically on the IEEE Xplore digital library. The Conference is also supported by the IFIP TC6, the Italian Chapters of IEEE LEOS and COMSOC.
Since you are active in this area, we would like to invite you to consider the possibility of submitting a paper to this conference.
Please forward this message to your colleagues or other persons possibly interested in contributing to this conference.
We look forward to receiving your submission (deadline is 15 November 2004).
The organizing committee
Researchers are invited to submit original papers including but not limited to the following topics:
1. Evolution of the IP network architecture 2. Towards a carrier class Ethernet networking 3. All IP 3G mobile networks 4. Towards 4G: higher capacity and vertical multi-technology roaming/handover 5. Towards unified control planes for multilayer nets (e.g. G-MPLS)
6. Infrastructure and management for new services 7. Traffic management 8. Traffic engineering 9. Traffic characterization 10. Congestion control 11. Traffic control, Flow based admission control in IP networks 12. Network management 13. Routing in next generation networks 14. Routing in multilayer networks 15. QoS from the user perspective 16. QoS in wireless networks 17. Resiliency strategies and algorithm for next generation networks 18. Robustness of access networks 19. Multilayer optimization 20. Network security 21. Spatial modeling 27. Cost models and pricing 28. Methods for network optimization and control 29. Methods for network resilience
SUBMISSION Author guidelines All papers should be submitted electronically as PDF files, according to the IEEE http://www.ieee.org/portal/cms_docs/pubs/confstandards/pdfs/IEEE-PDF-Sp ecV32.pdf Xplore standards. Papers should be submitted by first sending an e-mail to the conference secretariat at the address NGI2005secretariat@coritel.it , providing the following information: 1. Title, abstract of the paper and list of authors. 2. Author who serves as the primary corresponding author. 3. Affiliation, mailing address, phone/fax numbers, and email address of the corresponding author. An example of paper http://82.89.230.93:8080/ngi2005/download/IEEEsample11.doc format, usable as a template, is provided. The corresponding author will then be provided with instructions to upload the paper to a website. The papers will be published in the conference proceedings distributed in CD at the conference. For the publication of an accepted paper, registration of at least one of the authors is requested. The authors of accepted papers will be possibly requested to provide an extended version of the paper.
Format requirements Submitted papers should be 8 pages long. Each submission must be accompanied by the following information: a short abstract, a complete list of authors and their affiliations, a contact person or correspondence, postal and email addresses.
Poster sessions Should the number of valuable papers exceed the available presentation time, poster sessions will be arranged.
Schedule 1. Paper Submission Deadline: November 15th, 2004 2. Feedback to Authors: January 15th, 2005 3. Final Manuscripts to Publisher: February 28th, 2005 4. Publication of Proceedings: April 2005
