---------------------------------------------------------------------- Minitrack on ENERGY MANAGEMENT IN MOBILE AND PERVASIVE COMPUTING SYSTEMS http://www.ing.unipi.it/energy-man/
to be held within The Software Technology Track of the 38th HAWAII INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SYSTEM SCIENCES (HICSS-38)
January 3-6, 2005 Hilton Waikoloa Village Big Island, Hawaii ----------------------------------------------------------------------
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Minitrack focuses on policies for power management in mobile and pervasive computing systems. Of particular interest to the Minitrack are papers concerning power management in networking activities since the wireless interface is the main responsible for power consumption in small-size devices. Results related to systems that have been implemented are particularly welcome. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Energy-efficient architectures - System-level solutions for energy saving - Cross-layer design of energy-efficient systems - Energy-aware applications - Energy saving in mobile Web access - Middleware support to energy saving - Energy management in P2P networks - Energy management in infrastructure-based networks - Energy management in ad hoc and sensor networks - Energy-aware routing - Energy saving and security - Performance evaluation of energy management solutions - Measurement studies
PAPER SUBMISSION
1.Paper submission is in two steps. In the first step, authors submit a 300-word abstract (by April 15, 2004) for guidance and indication of appropriate content. In the second step, authors submit the full paper (by June 15, 2004). 2. For full paper submission, please send a PDF or PS version, by email, to all Minitrack co-chairs (see below). 3. The manuscript should be no longer than 25 double-spaced pages, including figures, tables, etc. (the final paper will be 10 pages, double-column, single-spaced.) 4. Papers should contain original material and not be previously published, or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. 5. Each paper must have a title page to include title of the paper, full names of all authors, and complete addresses including affiliation(s), telephone number(s), and e-mail address(es). 6. At least one author of each accepted paper must register to attend the conference (by October 1, 2004).
