IFIP SUPPORT TO PARTICIPANTS FROM DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
ELIGIBILITY Eligible for grant support for the international seminars, workshops and conferences with IFIP as main sponsor/organizer are:
Invited speakers from developed countries to developing countries.
Invited speakers from developing countries to conferences in developed countries.
Accepted papers from developing countries to conferences in countries abroad.
AVAILABLE PARTIAL SUPPORT A maximum of 1,500 EUR can be considered per individual participant. The allocated sum is intended partially to cover registration fee, hotel and travel expenses depending on the individual requests. All applicants would be expected to find the remaining funding from elsewhere.
ORGANIZATION Grants are applied by the organizers of the conference through TCs and not by individuals. The conference organizers would be responsible for the organization of the scheme. The organizers, in cooperation with the program committee and the respective IFIP TC Chairs, is expected to oversee a procedure taking into account a representative geographical distribution and a fair spread across the conferences in which IFIP TCs are primarily involved. TC & WG chairs involved in the paper review procedure should be advised on matters related to the grant allocation.
As a guideline, the organizers should advise applicants one month after paper acceptance what sum can be made available under this scheme. The confirmed grants should be paid upon actual conference registration at the conference venue. Grantees would be requested to sign a receipt for the received sum.
IFIP will reimburse the organizers up to the maximum amount of the awarded grant immediately after conference after the organizers provides a report with the complete list of grantees and copies of signed receipts.
(Typical grant is about 1500 EUR to support two participants. Please note that grant is contribution or support and does not always cover full expenses).
