Dear all,
in our conference calendar we have:
Open Conference; 11th Conference on Personal Wireless Communications (PWC2006); WG 6.8 20 - 22 September, 2006; Albacete, Spain; Email contact: Pedro Cuenca, pedro.cuenca@uclm.es URL:
Recently we got the following information: 3rd International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems 2006 6 - 8 September 2006, Valencia (Spain) www.iswcs.org/iswcs2006 Technically co-sponsored by the IEEE and the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society.
This is far from being perfect. It would not even be meaningful to attend both conferences back to back (if you don't intend to have 12 days of vacation in Spain - which would be very nice, however, in September).
But anyway these two events are so (!) near to each other that they will steal the participants vice versa.
I think that we should have a better control about competing events in the same area. I agree that the information about those events may be difficult to obtain but we have to try to do our very best.
By the way: Apparently the information about the IEEE conference came from our delegate from Singapore (whom we have not yet seen at a meting), namely Boon Sain Yeo boonsain.yeo@wavex-tech.com. I have had a different email address from him and I would like to ask whether I should replace his address in our email exploder - in order not to be forced to treat his messages manually.
Best regards Otto
