Dear Guy (and others),
Could you clarify the formula
The "fund to be used in year n" is (("Fund balance" in year n-1) minus 15.000) * 20%
For 2006, this formula gives 16270 EUR, but the budget for "TC-6 activity expenses" in 2006 is only 15250 EUR.
Sorry: I missed 3.000 EURO for WG 6.9 support in Santiago (see annex). We planned 11.250 + 4000 + 3000 = 18.250 EURO and (in addition to that) 5000 EURO for operational expenses (upper bound). Has been corrected in the sheet which is attached.
If the "Fund to be used in year n" only covers these "TC-6 activity expenses" (and not the "TC-6 operating expenses" for example), then we will not use enough fund in 2006.
The fund to be used is indeed not meant for operational expenses.
Also, in your Excel sheet, D19 is wrong, it should be = (D6+D10-D13-D15-D17).
Thanks a lot. Has been corrected.
Finally, I attach the global budget situation of IFIP.
For TC6 it shows that - In 2005 TC6 had to use 14.206,43 EURO but used only 12.085,36 thus 2.121,07 were unused (and are maybe lost). Thus we should urge all organisors that they do their requests in due time. - We will have to use 18.042,45 EURO in 2006 (see attached sheet). This is still in accordance with the 18.250 EURO we asked for (see above). But we must check that this money will indeed be used.
Thanks very much to Guy Leduc for giving this important hint concerning our budget.
Best regards Otto
