Dear Peter,
I had this drawn to my attention the other day. It is its twentieth anniversary! (It is a parody of a rhyme that starts 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; ")
I liked the parody very much (not knowing the original rhyme). It shows, however, that we are in a very short living area:
On LAPB, on OSI, X.25! TCP, SNA, V.35!
All but one (or maybe two) of those abreviations are already obsolete. This should remind us that we shouldn't be too nervous in defending some systems which (very probably) will be outdated in a few years from now.
Best wishes Otto
p.s.: Even if the minutes of meeting 2005/2 will be outdated very soon .... could we get them not too late, please?
