Dear colleagues,
please find enclosed the new delegates address list.
Furthermore a somewhat modified event calendar is enlosed.
I have added the second EURO-NGI conference which is to be held in
Valencia, April 3-5, 2006 (Vicente Casares-Giner).
In Toronto, it was recommended that IFIP should be in close contact with
those Networks of Excellences. such as EURO-NGI.
In that case (the conference is co-sponsored with IEEE, as often)
it was arrange that a sponsorship of 5 EURO per day is paid
(since we are a second sponsor and thus will get only half of the fee)
but only for people who attend outside of EIURO-NGI (since the EURO-NGI
people
don't have to pay a registration fee at all). I hope that this is acceptable.
Last but not least I attach the report of TC6 whic h I would like to present
at the General Assembly Meeting in Gaborone (Sept. 2005).
The last part of this report contains our new publication principles and
policies such as they were formulated by Lyman Chapin at the occasion of
meeting 2005/1 in Toronto.
Very quick modifications of the report might still be accepted;
otherwise I will send it tomoorow morning (GMT) to the IFIP secretariat.
Best regards
Otto

1st International Workshop on Software for Sensor Networks (SensorWare) - CFP
***********************************************************
Welcome to the 1st International Workshop on Software for Sensor Networks (SensorWare) to be held on the 8 January 2006. The workshop is held in conjunction with COMSWARE 2006 in the beautiful and historical city of New Delhi.
Advances in technology have made deployment of miniature sensors a realistic proposition. These sensors are low-power, inexpensive, smart devices with multiple on-board sensors, and are connected through wireless links, so as to form a collaborative sensor network to perform a specific task. As a result, it opens up a new paradigm of ubiquitous computing and enables a range of applications that are previously unrealizable or too costly to be realized. However, given the limitation of on-board hardware, one of the key areas towards achieving superior performance is through the software implementation. The workshop is intended for the presentation and discussion of novel algorithms and software implementation for sensor networks. This workshop, intends to bring together engineering experts and academicians to discuss the current status, technical challenges, standards, fundamental issues, and future services and applications in the form of panels and technical presentation.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
Operating System
Efficient algorithms
Protocol design
Performance analysis

Dear all,
please find enclosed the planning for TC6 fund spending in 2006.
Probably I forgot some events since for example IWQoS and TESTCOM are not
in the
calendar!
On the other hand, I have increased the travels (from 2 to 3) and the
number of
best paper awards (from 1 to 2) for Networking 2006 since this is really a big
event.
Much support also is foreseen for WCC 2006 and its associated TC6 events.
For that, I will also make a request to obtain DCSC funds.
The request will be submitted Thursday, July 28, 2006.
(After that, I will be in holiday for two weeks).
Thus if you believe that some requests are missing then please
inform me immediately about that!
Best regards
Otto
We sincerely apologize if you receive this CFP more than once.

Call for Participation:
First International ACM Workshop on Dynamic Interconnection of Networks
http://www.docomoeurolabs.de/mobicom-2005-din-ws.html
In conjunction with ACM <http://www.sigmobile.org/mobicom/2005/index.html>
MobiCom 2005
Sept 2nd, Cologne, Germany
Scope
A salient feature of future mobile networks will be support for flexible,
dynamic inter-connection of networks. New kinds of mobile networks, such as
Personal Area Networks (PANs), Body Area Networks (BANs), inter-vehicle
networks, and sensor networks, arise and have to inter connect among
themselves and with existing infrastructure. Such networks will integrate
heterogeneous technologies, and their topologies are dynamic. Currently,
inter-working in IP networks consists essentially of inter-do main routing .
In the future, t he control plane interconnection of these networks needs to
enable e.g. seamless mobility, routing, QoS, multi-homed networks, charging,
and security. For instance, mobility handling is different for a mobile
phone, a train network or a BAN. Hence it needs to be negotiated which
specific protocols to use and in which way. The owners of future mobile
networks often are non-experts and hence auto-configuration is a major issue
. The purpose of this workshop is to provide a forum for researchers working
on interconnection of mobile networks and related topics to exchange their
ideas .

IPDPS 2006 LOCATION
The 20th IEEE International Parallel & Distributed Processing
Symposium, hosted by the Research Academic Computer Technology
Institute (CTI, Greece), will be held on the Isle of Rhodes in Greece
at the Rodos Palace Resort Hotel & Convention Center. Considered a
premier European conference site, the hotel tower provides spectacular
views of gardens and the blue Aegean Sea alongside its modern
conference facilities. Situated on the Mediterranean Sea at the
crossroads of two continents, Rodos combines the worldliness of Europe
with the mystery of the Orient in an atmosphere that allows visitors
to discover ancient Greek cities, a medieval town with its own castle,
charming small villages, and sun drenched beaches. Rodos is also one
of the most developed islands in the Mediterranean, providing every
holiday amenity, including a yachting harbor, entertaining night life,
and casino and sports facilities. The Rodos airport has direct flights
to major international cities and other Aegean islands as well as many
daily flights from Athens International Airport. With 300 sunny days
per year, the island holds the Greek record for sunshine, and its
remarkably rich legacy in archaeological treasures and developed
tourism infrastructure make Rodos a very special place to gather for
IPDPS 2006. Plan to arrive early and stay late!

IPDPS 2006 WORKSHOPS
Workshops at IPDPS are held on the first and last day of the
symposium. Next year in Greece that will be Tuesday, April 25th and
Saturday, April 29th. Workshops are an opportunity to explore special
topics, and running a workshop in association with IPDPS offers many
advantages. For more information on organizing a workshop, contact
Workshops Chair Alan Sussman (als(a)cs.umd.edu). Workshops already
planned for 2006 are listed on the IPDPS Web at www.ipdps.org.
IPDPS 2006 COMMERCIAL PARTICIPATION
There are three exciting forums available for commercial participants
to showcase their technologies at IPDPS 2006: (1) Give a presentation
in a special Commercial Track, which includes publication of a
technical article in the proceedings of the symposium. (2) Offer an
evening Commercial Tutorial to provide orientation and training to
symposium participants interested in using and/or learning more about
your technology. (3) Participate in three days of Commercial Exhibits
by having a booth where your company can promote awareness about its
recent technological advances in a "walk-up-and-talk" setting with a
diverse audience. Participants in one or more of the above events
will be designated as Commercial Sponsors and will have their company
logo linked on the IPDPS home page. For more detailed information and
to reserve your spot, contact one of the Commercial Co-chairs - John
K. Antonio (antonio(a)ou.edu) or Theodoros Komninos (komninos(a)cti.gr) -
as early as possible but no later than January 1, 2006.
IPDPS BIRDS-OF-A-FEATHER
These are informal sessions in which a group of researchers can gather
for discussions on a topic of mutual interest. BOF space will be
available early in the evening and a typical BOF session will last one
to two hours. We'll provide the space, you provide the topic and
gather the people. Please reserve space in advance by contacting the
General Vice Chair Charles Weems (weems(a)cs.umass.edu). Reservations
should be made by January 16, 2006. BOF sessions will be advertised
in advance of the meeting on the IPDPS web site and can be linked to
a BOF announcement web page. The goal of the BOF sessions is to
encourage new collaborations and research directions, to inspire
educational initiatives, and to nurture the development of new
workshop proposals and other initiatives and interactions within our
community.
