Radio interface design, adaptive antennas and arrays and indoor propagation, measurement and predictions also will be considered. A growing number of digital devices inside homes and the application of Ultra Wide Band (UWB), as well as Spectrum efficiency and low power consumption including low cost and secure wireless personal access are some of the areas to be considered in this conference. Optical communications networks are becoming increasingly important as the demand for high capacity links are required. Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) is widely deployed at the core networks to accommodate high capacity transport systems. Optical components, such as optical amplifier, tunable filters, transceivers, termination devices and add-drop multi-plexers are becoming more affordable and reliable. Access and metropolitan area networks are increasingly built with optical technologies to overcome the electronic bottleneck at network edges. New components and subsystems for high-speed optical networks offer new design options. Access to Event Request Form

Dear all, to those of you who organise events (or want to help an organisor with the corresponding form): There is a trial to produce a new form which should be much clearer and much easier to use than the old one. A first sample of it which is based on my proposal made in Bangkok has been sent by Eduard Dundler from IFIP secretariat to Niko Schlamberger who is responsible for the renewal. Niko couldn't finalize it until now. Thus the old form is still valid. It is obtainable via: http://www.ifip.or.at/events/ifip_event_form.rtf or via: www.ifip.or.at >>> Events (left side) >>> Event Approval Guidelines >>> Event Form (including Statement of Understanding). If the delegates agree we might informally use the modified version for our purposes. Once again: No payment will be made by IFIP secretariat for events which have not submitted an ERF and which, therefore, are not in the IFIP database. Communications among nodes which are not directly reachable, are carried out through multihop paths. Their topology is dynamic, decentralized and ever changing due to the arbritarily movement of ad hoc nodes. We are interested in work in progress, experimental and theoretical research in Ad-hoc, Mobile and Wireless Networks. Topics of interest for which we are soliciting papers include, but are not limited to, the following: *Access control, scheduling *Ad hoc and sensor networks *Analytic methods and modelling for performance evaluation, optimization... *Auto-configuration *Incentives and pricing *Location awareness, discovery, dependence, and management *Mesh networks *New applications *Power management, power control, and energy-efficiency *Quality-of-service, resource allocation, multimedia *Routing (unicast, multicast, etc.) *Security and privacy *Service discovery *Systems and testbeds *Wireless Internet, and data management PROCEEDINGS ----------- The proceedings of Ad hoc Now 2005 will be published by Springer-Verlag, as part of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LCNS) series. The best papers with a clear algorithmic content will be selected for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Discrete Algorithms. PAPER SUBMISION INSTRUCTIONS ---------------------------- Authors should prepare a full paper not to exceed 14 pages in Springer Verlag LNCS format. This page budget must contain all figures, tables, and references. The paper should also include a brief abstract of up to 150 words, three keywords, and full contact information for the corresponding author. Submissions not in the appropriate format will be rejected without review. All paper submissions will be handled electronically at the conference website. PANELS AND DEMONSTRATIONS ------------------------- Proposals for panels that examine controversial or otherwise provocative issues are solicited.
