this is definitly a bug. The om format has the drawback, that the mesh needs to have all properties that should be loaded as persistent properties before the actual load operation. Currently, the loader creates a standard mesh and than loads the file. This causes all extra properties to be lost. We are working on that, but it's not that easy to fix.
