Scope
Multi-hop wireless Ad Hoc and sensor networks are self-organizing systems
formed by co-operating nodes within communication range of each other that
form temporary networks. Ad hoc wireless networks allow anywhere, anytime
network connectivity with complete lack of control, ownership, and
regulatory influence. The last few years have witnessed a wealth of
research ideas on ad hoc and sensor networks that are moving rapidly into
commercialization and standardization. Such networks can be randomly and
rapidly deployed and reconfigured and easily tailored to specific
applications including entertainment, civilian, military, etc. Moreover,
an ad hoc architecture is highly robust to node failure and can provide a
high-level of fault tolerance due to nodal redundancy and its distributed
nature. Furthermore, energy efficiency can be achieved through multi-hop
routing communication. Bandwidth reuse can also benefit from dividing the
single long range hop to multiple short hops with each hop having a
shorter range. Several challenges face are standing in the way to
achieving ubiquitous deployment of ad hoc and sensor networks. These
include variable topology, device heterogeneity, limited power supply and
the lack of effective energy-efficient design, lack of QoS and application
support, etc.
This symposium aims at providing a forum for sharing ideas among
researchers and practitioners working on state-of-the-art solutions to the
challenges above. We are seeking papers that describe original and
unpublished contributions addressing various aspects of ad hoc and sensor
networks. You are invited to submit original technical papers covering but

Networked small embedded devices with sensing capabilities will play a
key role in the emerging pervasive computing environments. These devices
include mote-class sensors as well as actuators, RFIDs, cameras,
cellular phones, etc. This workshop encourages papers that address a
variety of issues arising from this broad range of sensing-related
systems and applications. The goal of this workshop is to provide a
unique forum to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and share experiences
among researchers, professionals, and application developers both from
industry and academia. Original papers addressing both theoretical and
practical aspects of distributed sensor systems are solicited.
Papers describing prototype implementations and deployment of sensor
systems are particularly welcome. Topics of interest include but are
not limited to:

**Paper Submission Guidelines**
Papers should contain original material and not be previously published,
or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts must be
limited to 6 pages in IEEE camera ready format (double-column, 10 point
font size). All submissions will be handled electronically. Authors
should prepare a PDF file and submit it using EDAS (http://edas.info/).
When login EDAS, please click the Submit Paper tab, and then select
ICCCN 2007 and click the associated Submit Paper icon. In the tracks
page, please select DSS 2007 to submit your paper. Accepted papers
will be published by either IEEE or Springer's LNCS.

Smart Home Environments (SHE) are emerging rapidly as an exciting new
paradigm including ubiquitous, grid, and peer-to-peer computing to provide
computing and communication services any time and anywhere.
Our workshop is intended to foster the dissemination of state-of-the-art
research in the area of SHE including intelligent system, security services,
business models, and novel applications associated with its utilization.
The goal of this Workshop is to bring together the researchers from academia
and industry as well as practitioners to share ideas, problems and solutions
relating to all aspects of intelligent systems and smart home.

We are faced with an era where the widespread use of small portable
wireless devices and wireless technologies are building the pervasive
vision. This pervaded world has generated new communication paradigms:
autonomic and opportunistic communications.
Communication among devices in a pervasive environment can happen if
the devices can communicate autonomously, and manage their own evolution
and configuration changes in the network, without explicit user or
administrator action. In a pervasive world, even in the absence of any
connectivity infrastructure mobile devices can communicate using the
connection "opportunities" that arise due to mobility.
The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum between the autonomic
and opportunistic communication communities to exchange ideas, discuss
solutions, and share experiences among researchers, professionals, and
application developers both from industry and academia. Original papers
addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of autonomic
communications and computing are solicited. Papers describing prototype

defense. The Recent Advances in Intrusion Detection (RAID)
International Symposium series is intended to further advances in

Submissions:

RAID 2007 invites four types of submissions:
1. Full papers presenting mature research results: Papers accepted for
presentation will be included in the RAID 2006 proceedings
published by Springer Verlag in its Lecture Notes in Computer
Science (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/index.html)
series. Papers are limited to 20 pages when formatted according to
the instructions provided by Springer Verlag
(http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html), and must include
an abstract and a list of keywords.
2. Short papers presenting original work that has not yet reached the
maturity required for a full paper. These are limited to 10 pages
using the same format required for full papers. Short papers can
describe new research results or practical experience that
demonstrates the limitations and capabilities of existing
approaches to intrusion detection and network security. They will
be reviewed by the program committee, and accepted papers will be
included in the proceedings (in short form - not expanded to full
papers - and with "Short paper" in the title) and presented orally
during the symposium (in shorter speaking slots).
3. Posters describing work in progress: submissions must consist of a
one-page abstract.
4. Panel proposals for presenting and discussing hot topics in the
field of intrusion detection systems: The panel proposals should
include both an outline of the format of the panel and a short
rationale for the panel. Panels that include time for general
discussion and questions-answers between the panelists and the
audience are preferred.
All submissions (papers, panel, and poster proposals) must be
submitted electronically, details will be provided at a later
date. Papers should list all authors and their affiliations; in case
of multiple authors, the contact author must be indicated (RAID does
not require anonymized submissions). For accepted papers, it is
required that at least one of the authors attends the conference to
present the paper. Further questions on the submission process may be
sent to the program chair. Submissions must not substantially
duplicate work that any of the authors has published elsewhere or has
submitted in parallel to a journal or to any other conference or
workshop with proceedings. Simultaneous submission of the same work to
multiple venues, submission of previously published work, and
plagiarism constitute dishonesty or fraud. RAID, like other scientific
and technical conferences and journals, prohibits these practices and
may, on the recommendation of the program chair, take action against
authors who have committed them.

topics in cryptography. Examples are CHES, FSE, PKC and TCC. The modern
unclassified research on cryptography started with Shannon's work on
cryptography using information theory. Since then we have seen several
research topics studied requiring information theoretical security, also
called unconditional security. Examples are anonymity, authenticity,
reliable
and private networks, secure multi-party computation, traitor tracing,
etc. Moreover, we have also seen that coding as well as other aspects of
information theory have been used in the design of cryptographic schemes.
Seeing the multitude of topics in cryptography requiring information
theoretical security or using information theory, it is time to have a
regular
conference on this topic. This was first realized by Prof. Imai
(University of
Tokyo, Japan). He organized the 2005 IEEE Information Theory Workshop on
Theory and Practice in Information-Theoretic Security (ITW 2005, Japan)
October 16-19, 2005. The goal is to continue this event on a regular
basis.
PROCEEDINGS:
Post-conference proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in the
Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Informal pre-proceedings will be
available
at the conference.
TOPICS OF INTEREST:
The topics of interest are on work on any aspect of information theoretical
security, this means security based on information theory. This
includes, but
is not limited to the following topics:

NOTES:
Papers on coding theory without any relationship with cryptography will be
rejected. It is not the goal of this conference to become a second one on
"Coding and Cryptography." Papers using computational complexity
assumptions,
except when using: information theoretic results or quantum arguments, will
not be accepted.
VENUE:
Madrid is a city with a long history and very good airport connections. Its
climate end of May is pleasantly warm. Madrid has good connections to
the rest
of the world and the rest of Spain, in particular Barcelona. More
information
on how to reach the venue by airplane or train will be provided later.
Madrid
is very close to Toledo, a small historical city worth visiting.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS:
The paper must start with a title, an abstract and keywords, but should be
anonymous. It should be followed by a succinct statement appropriate for a
non-specialist reader specifying the subject addressed, its background, the
main achievements, and their significance to information theoretic security.
Technical details directed to the specialist should then follow. Self
citations to unpublished work should be avoided to maintain the anonymity. A
limit of 12 singlespaced pages of 11pt type (not counting the
bibliography and
clearly marked appendices) is placed on all submissions. The total paper
must
not exceed 20 pages. Since referees are not required to read the appendices,
the paper should be intelligible without them. Submissions not meeting these
guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
Abstracts that have been or will be submitted in parallel to other
conferences
or workshops that have proceedings are not eligible for submission. One of
the authors is expected to present the paper. The submission receipt

Overview
The Fourth International Conference on Heterogeneous Networking for Quality, Reliability, Security and Robustness
(QShine 2007) will focus on the research challenges associated the design and implementation of large-scale wired
and wireless networks and distributed systems. Following the tradition of the previous QShine meetings, QShine 2007
will feature prominent invited speakers as well as papers by top researchers in the field.

The QShine program committee solicits original papers describing both experimental and theoretical results that address
a wide spectrum of fundamental issues associated with the design and implementation of large scale heterogeneous networks

QShine 2007 invites manuscripts that present original materials not previously published in, or currently under review by,
another conference or journal.
Submissions should be either full-length papers of up to 7 pages or short papers of up to 4 pages (including all figures
and references) formatted according to http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html with font sizes of 10 or larger.
Full-length papers should report on completed work and will be considered for oral presentations. Short papers should
report on work in progress or discuss open problems, and will be considered for poster presentations.
A separate abstract of no longer than 200 words should be submitted as well. Submissions will be judged by their
originality, significance, interest, clarity, relevance, and correctness. All papers should be electronically submitted

Networked small embedded devices with sensing capabilities will play a
key role in the emerging pervasive computing environments. These devices
include mote-class sensors as well as actuators, RFIDs, cameras,
cellular phones, etc. This workshop encourages papers that address a
variety of issues arising from this broad range of sensing-related
systems and applications. The goal of this workshop is to provide a
unique forum to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and share experiences
among researchers, professionals, and application developers both from
industry and academia. Original papers addressing both theoretical and
practical aspects of distributed sensor systems are solicited.
Papers describing prototype implementations and deployment of sensor
systems are particularly welcome. Topics of interest include but are
not limited to:
- Sensor network architectures and protocols
- Quality of Service and real-time support
- Fault tolerance and dependability

**Paper Submission Guidelines**
Papers should contain original material and not be previously published,
or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts must be
limited to 6 pages in IEEE camera ready format (double-column, 10 point
font size). All submissions will be handled electronically. Authors
should prepare a PDF file and submit it using EDAS (http://edas.info/).
When login EDAS, please click the Submit Paper tab, and then select
ICCCN 2007 and click the associated Submit Paper icon. In the tracks
page, please select DSS 2007 to submit your paper. Accepted papers
will be published by either IEEE or Springer's LNCS.

Due to recent advancements in communication technology,
computing, and storage resources, ubiquitous and pervasive
applications are becoming increasingly popular. However, the
large scale integration and examination of heterogeneous and
independent data and knowledge sources has created new issues
and challenges for knowledge management and acquisition.
The objective of this workshop is to bring together academics
and industry professionals to discuss recent progress and
challenges in knowledge management and discovery for
ubiquitous, pervasive, distributed, and heterogeneous
environments.
