"The Last Farm In The Valley" gewinnt MUNICH INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

"The Last Farm In The Valley" wins MUNICH INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL
The award of the first annual MUNICH INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL goes to the Icelandic competitor "The Last Farm In The Valley" (Síðasti Bærinn Í Dalnum) by Runar Runarsson: Somewhere in Iceland there is a lonely farm where old Hrafn and his wife live. When she dies, Hrafn persistently struggles for independence and dignity.
The 17 minute short film already won the Islandic film award "Edda" and was nominated for this year's Academy Award in the category "Best live action short film". UNICA, the UNESCO's international union of cinema, now bestows "The Last Farm In The Valley" with an award endowed by Kodak with film material for the filmmaker's next project.
The organizers Munich Filmwerkstatt and CommClub Munich and the partner cinema Mathaeser positively summed up the first annual MUNICH INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL. Festival director Martin Blankemeyer: "We are extremely content! Although there were lots of alternative events taking place in the city and Saturday was a very sunny day, our screenings were well attended and the feedback of the audience was consistently positive. We could fulfill our aspiration to the full extent, offering our spectators insights both new and inspiring, enlarging their horizons." Hence, the organizers plan to proceed with their cooperation next year. The dates and films will be announced in time at www.muc-intl.de.
The organizers:
Munich Filmwerkstatt is an association of young directors, producers and other members of the filmmaking community, supporting each other's films and careers. Some of the members' films, in addition to those outside the organization, are produced and/or distributed by Munich Filmwerkstatt.
CommClub Munich welcomes everyone starting or established in the communication industry. With the motto "Collecting knowledge and strengthening personal networking", a widespread range of events and meetings are offered, focusing on information, networking and fun. CommClub Munich is dedicated to the media industry in Munich and fulfills its obligation by bringing people from various branches together.
