Best regards,

Can I install a second version of procmail to work with smartlist that
will not interfere with the other version that is running on the
server. The reason I ask this is I am running a Sun Cobalt Raq Server
And it has procmail working with sendmail and majordomo on the server
already I don't what to break that and I can not upgrade the version
of procmail because it will break the Cobalt GUI.
I want to use smartlist also on the server so is this possible will it
still read the email's and send them to the proper mailing list. And
can this all be installed in a completely different place than a normal
install.

I need to let the subscribers stay subscribed no matter how
many emails bounce from their account. Would assigning minbounce to a
blank value as follows do it ?
minbounce = # no. of bounces before removal
Thanks

I'm trying to set up a web presence for a client, and just tried setting up
an HTML form using post to subscribe people to a Smartlist mailing list.
(I didn't see it mentioned as working, but I thought I'd try. It does get
emailed.) It almost worked perfectly: it uses the address posted in the
form, but the form puts a '=' in front of the address. Can anyone point me
to a good way to strip that out? (Sorry, don't know shell code yet.)

This works on the whole file. On the other hand,
if you just want to use a filter on a line *before*
writing it to the dist file, use
... | sed 's/=/' | ...
For instance, if the address sits in a variable, say, $email,
and you want to append it to the dist file,
echo $email | sed 's/=//' >> dist
Exactly where you want to put it, should be pretty clear,
I guess.

Well, that would work if I wasn't using the confirm package... (The
address doesn't make it to the dist file.) Hmm, if I can just figure out
where to put that in the procmail scripts it should still work. (With
appropriate io redirection.) Now if I just have the time...
Thanks.

Sorry, I was wrong. I just went back and checked the Manual, and it says
that the email address must be the first thing on the line. The other
form I mentioned, though --
user(a)domain.com (real name)
-- is explicitly permitted.
Sorry for the misinformation. (I should've checked before speaking!)
