You are right, the moderated list is the way to get an
announcement-only list. At first, I thought it was a two step process
(sending the message to the list and then having the moderator to
manually approve it for redistribution), which seemed to me
cumbersome. Now, I've figured out it's enough adding the Approved
line at the top of the announcement for immediate distribution.
What I'm not sure is about the relationship between the
moderated_flag and foreign_submit options. If foreign_submit is
disabled, do I have to put the moderator address in the accept file
(seems to me so) or moderator messages with good Approved lines are
always distributed?

Hi,
I plan to use smartlist for a announcements only list, where only a
person will be able to post to the list. From the manual, I uncomment
force_submit, delink the accept file and put in it the authorized
email address for posting. I wonder if this method is not too easy to
bypass by a malicious subscriber. It seems enough to configure any
email program with the posting address to spam the list (and I'd say
this address is sent in the headers).
Am I wrong? If not, what can be done to avoid this without making the
list moderated?
TIA,
Llorenc Sole

Is anyone doing anything with integrating OPT-IN subscriptions
into their smartlist environment? The kind where a subscription
request sends a message which must be responded to in order for
the subscription to be approved?
If so, what are you using and how well does it work?

Hi.
This is probably a stupid question:
How do i subscribe (manually) some addresses to the dist file and have them
immediately replicated to the access file ? It has something to do with
linking the files but i can't seem to find a doc that explains this.
Thanks,
Carlos.
