Is there a way to turn this off so active list members don't get punished

Thanks,

I am a new user of smartlist and when I subscribed to receive the
newsletter I was sent a confirmation email which surprised me because I am
using smarlist for my mailing list and it does not send out a confirmation
email when someone subscribes to the list. How can I get smartlist to send
a confirmation email when someone joins my list? Thanks for your help!
Alan,
Hello All,
I just started using smartlist. I have the smart list setup with the address support(a)data-direct.com. That address is supposed to receive backup and ups notifications from our customers and send them to the techs in our office. However, I noticed that the backup and ups e-mails are considered daemons and just get dropped into the request file. How can I modify the support list config to allow submissions from these daemons?
Sincerely,
Gregory Malsack

I'm interested in the possibility using Smartlist as a spam filter but in
looking thru the docs and doing some experimentation with the configuration
I cannot figure out how.
Has anyone created a configuration that lets them to this?
If so, could you let me know how or send me a copy of your configuration files?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Hi
My company will be switching to smartlist from majordomo in the couple
weeks. I'm new to this list and do not have access to the installed
documentation, so I have a couple quick questions.
I've written a web form script for our clients to subscribe to our
majordomo lists (we have several) using sendmail and I have to modify it
for smartlist. Can anyone tell me the email syntax needed for the script
to add an email address to multiple lists? For example, this is the syntax
I used for majordomo (contained in the message body):
subscribe user(a)company.com list1-l
subscribe user(a)company.com list2-l
subscribe user(a)company.com list3-l
Is there a similar feature in smartlist? What email address would this
message be sent to? I found a related question in the faq at:
http://www.hartzler.net/smartlist/SmartList-FAQ.html#Section_2.5
but I would like to have the email address and lists specified in the
message body and not the header. Any help would be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Tony Grimes

The procmail script to quarantine potentially malicious Microsoft
Outlook(r) attachments has its own web page now:
http://www.johncon.com/john/QuarantineAttachments/
It can use SmartList as the quarantining mechanism.

Hi all -
I am using Smartlist preinstalled by my hosting co. When I try to
"administer" the list I receive a success message, but nothing happens...
Nothing is sent to the maintainers email, no users are subscribed to the
list. I have no idea why this is, and my host company has told me that it is
working. I really nee to solve this quickly.
Thanks much,
Josh

Can Smartlist be configured to *not* forward messages with the
"Already on the subscriber list" x-diagnostic to the list owner?
As a list owner I don't think I need to see this message every
time someone tries to subscribe twice. Don't ask me why, but
with my list this happens quite often. I think this event can
safely be ignored.

Hi,
Got some newbie questions, so please feel free to flame me / point out
the FAQ / set the ClueBot on me...
How to disable html and ban binary attachments?
How to set mail bounces to go to the list admin, not the sender?
Thanks, Les
