My list is running as a news letter
How can I get it to stop sending a digest
out to every one on the list.It should only
come to me.

I totally agree. What I meant with not wanting to see the bounces
is I don't want to see them in MY inbox. As list owner, there is
enough mail coming in there that needs immediate attention.
I would like to re-route bounces to another address so that I may
automatically move them to another folder using mail message rules.

Hi there,
When the list owner sends out a newsletter via SmartList, all bounces are
received by the list owner.
How can one turn this feature off, or redirect just the bounces to another
address?
We do not wish to see bounces - just let SmartList take care of them.
Thanks in advance.
Andreas
Moin!
I'm having little trouble with a list that ought to be moderated. The
documentation of SmartList says:
------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.hartzler.net/smartlist/Manual.html#3f
3f.Moderated lists
---------------
First create a file named "moderators", it should contain the fully
qualified mail addresses of all the moderators for this list (i.e. just
local usernames are not sufficient, at least include an @host or host! ).
Then uncomment the appropriate "moderated_flag" line in rc.custom.
I'm settin up a web archive of a some smartlist lists, and i wont setup
archive divided into year and month, like debian does.
How?!

Hi,
I have downloaded and printed the manual, the README, INTRO & INSTALL. I am
however mildly confused by some things I have missed.
1. I plan to install and run SmartList from a RH7.1 box, the instructions
indicate that I required both the source for procmail and smartlist. As the
aforementioned box already has procmail/sendmail installed by RPM do I have
to remove them? (rpm -e) before d/l and installing smartlist??
2. As it is more economical for me to be secondary MX behind my ISP, can I
use mail names (aliases) which they allow me to set-up and then filter by
local procmail to drive smartlist. i.e.
my.listname@domain.name/my.listname-request@domain.name would be mapped to
actual.user.list.name(a)domain.name, then would it be possible for a .procmail
to filter on the "To: " field.
If I have missed either of these points within the documents, can someone
point me in the right(relevant) direction. Thanks.
Andrew
I think the following code is better, because it allows domain names
to start with digits when handling email that has subcribe
abc(a)21cn.com in the Subject line.
address=`$formail -k -xSubject: |
$sed -n -e 'y/ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ/abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz/' \
-e '/^[ ]*[^ a-z]/ q' \
-e 's/^[^@]*add[ ]*'\
'[^ ]*[ ]\([^ ]*[-a-z0-9_][@!][a-z0-9][^ ]*\).*/\1/p' \
-e 's/^[^@]*address[ ]*'\
'[^ ]*[ ]\([^ ]*[-a-z0-9_][@!][a-z0-9][^ ]*\).*/\1/p' \
-e 's/^[^@]*sub[ ]*'\
'[^ ]*[ ]\([^ ]*[-a-z0-9_][@!][a-z0-9][^ ]*\).*/\1/p' \
-e 's/^[^@]*subscribe[ ]*'\
'[^ ]*[ ]\([^ ]*[-a-z0-9_][@!][a-z0-9][^ ]*\).*/\1/p' `
THe only difference is I added 0-9 in the sed check after the @ symbol.

No, not here. What is in unsubscribe.txt is the above text MINUS
the line beginning "You have not been removed...". That is the part
that I want to edit. I am sorry I was not sufficiently explicit about
that. I should have said that the first line is what I am trying
to locate.

When a subscriber attempts to unsubscribe from his new address rather
that the one for which he is subscribed, he receives the following
message from SmartList:

I would prefer to change the wording (not least because it sounds
as though it comes frm a human source rather than a robot), but I
do not know in which file this text resides. Can someone tell me
so I can edit it?

Posts to one of my lists that are larger than 4.5K are being duplicated.
The archive only has a single entry. The message headers are the same for
both messages (except for the outgoing ID and date stamps). And as near as
I can tell, it does not happen to everyone on the list.
Just to confirm it, I subed a free yahoo account and it received the
duplicates. My sendmail logs show both messages being delivered.
Any idea?
