synopsis
After the re-election of Iranian President Mohammad Khatami a French
television crew comes to film a report in Tehran on the reformists' attempts
to introduce democracy in the country.
For Reza, the Iranian filmmaker who has been in exile for fifteen years, this
report is an opportunity to change the negative view the West has of his
native country.
For Goldmund, the French presenter, the most important thing is to produce an
accurate report of what is actually going on and to produce a faithful
portrait of the post-islamic revolutionary period.
In the meantime, they go in search of Esfandiar, a former student at the
Sorbonne University who returned to his country to teach French literature at
tehran University. he is also a cabaret singer and theatre producer who
dreams of the changes he will probably never see because he is dying from
cancer.
During these seven days the reality the crew has to face up goes far beyond
anything they had imagined.
On the day of their departure they are all greatly affected and Goldmund has
to leave his friend Esfandiar who will never witness Tehran's bright future.
7 DAYS IN TEHRAN
has been selected in more than 10 International Film Festival this year and
wan the "BRONZE ROSA CAMUNA" in Bergamo (Italy). The film is definitely
censored (forbidden) in Iran.
We look forward to speaking and meeting with you at the market!
