Zusammenfassung:
Room acoustical measurements according to the international standard ISO 3382 are executed with the requirement of omni-directional directivity of source and receiver to ensure the comparability of standardized parameters. Due to this, directivity patterns of ordinary sources, like human speakers or instruments, are not respected. Consequently important information are neglected entirely. For realistic auralization and precise room acoustical analysis the application of directivity-characteristic measurement is required. To optimize the measurement processes, sequential synthesis methods and improved sources were developed. The directional characteristics of the methods are composed of spherical harmonics. When using this method, the order of the spherical harmonics are limited due to practical considerations. In this regard, the question of the human perception of an accuracy, reasoned by the order of spherical harmonics, arises. Listening tests have proven, that strongly directive sources are audible. Furthermore there is no knowledge about human perception of SH order defined directivity patterns. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the human perceptual ability of sound directivity pattern in consideration of the implementation with spherical harmonics. For this task, the first step is to simulate defined directivity patterns in different room models in different orders with the objective to create signals for a listening test. In the second step, the listening test is to be implemented and executed. With the data it is to evaluate if there is any perception. Should this be the case, an analysis in assessment of a just noticeable difference (JND) is to be made to get information about the threshold of audibility regarding the order of spherical harmonics.
