Er...might you want to tell me what's wrong with making the list moderated, using the password scheme already built into SmartList to avoid anyone bypassing the admittedly-light security of delinking the accept/dist?
You are right, the moderated list is the way to get an announcement-only list. At first, I thought it was a two step process (sending the message to the list and then having the moderator to manually approve it for redistribution), which seemed to me cumbersome. Now, I've figured out it's enough adding the Approved line at the top of the announcement for immediate distribution. What I'm not sure is about the relationship between the moderated_flag and foreign_submit options. If foreign_submit is disabled, do I have to put the moderator address in the accept file (seems to me so) or moderator messages with good Approved lines are always distributed?
