Liebe Lehrende,

die RWTH freut sich, Ihnen eine Reihe von Events rund um das Thema "Generative KI in Studium und Lehre" vorstellen zu dürfen. Künstliche Intelligenz ist einer der aktuell wichtigsten Trends in der Digitalisierung und hält unaufhaltsam Einzug in die Hochschullandschaft. Das Sommersemester 2024 hält eine Reihe von Angeboten rund um dieses Thema für Sie bereit.

Zunächst wurde das ExAcT Kursprogramm um eine Workshopreihe zur Generativen KI erweitert. In mehreren niedrigschwelligen Online-Workshops haben Sie die Möglichkeit, interaktiv und praxisnah die Chancen und Nebenwirkungen von Generativer KI für das Lehren, Lernen und Prüfen kennenzulernen. Die Workshopreihe beginnt am 23.05.2024 und besteht aus jeweils 3-stündigen Modulen:

Darüber hinaus organisiert der Rektoratsbeauftragte für Digitale Transformation in der Lehre, Prof. Heribert Nacken, ein „Qualispecial KI in der Lehre". Jeweils mittwochs in der Zeit von 12:00 – 12:45 berichten ab dem 22.05.2024 Lehrende der RWTH darüber, welche Erfahrungen sie in ihrer Lehre gemacht haben, wenn sie Studierende konkrete fachspezifische Aufgaben unter Einsatz Generativer KI bearbeiten lassen. Es werden Best Practices aus vielen Fakultäten vorgestellt, Effekte besprochen und Unerwartetes berichtet. Nach einem ca. 30-minütigen Vortrag gibt es Gelegenheit für Fragen und Diskussion. Die Vortragenden im Qualispecial „KI in der Lehre“ sind Prof. Beetz (Fak. 2), Prof. Kommer (Fak. 7 ), Prof. Lübbecke (Fak. 8), Prof. Nacken (Fak. 3), Dr. Persike (CLS), Prof. Rumpe (Fak. 1), Prof. Kai-Uwe. Schröder (Fak. 4). Alle Beträge finden in Zoom statt, eine Anmeldung ist nicht notwendig.

Schließlich dreht sich auch im kommenden ExAcT Lunch Lehre wieder alles um Generative KI. Wir freuen uns am 03.06.2024 auf Prof. Dr. Jörn Loviscach von der Hochschule Bielefeld, Fachbereich Ingenieurwissenschaften und Mathematik, der uns mit einem Vortrag zum Thema "Generative KI im MINT-Bereich" bereichert.

Dear Instructors,

RWTH is pleased to present a series of events on the topic of Generative AI in Teaching and Learning. Artificial intelligence is currently one of the most important trends in the area of digitalization. It is rapidly finding its way into research and higher education. For this reason, we are now offering a range of workshops and events on this topic in the 2024 summer semester.

First, the ExAcT course program was expanded to include a Workshop Series on Generative AI. In several easily accessible online workshops, which follow an interactive and hands-on approach, you can learn more about the opportunities and challenges of using generative AI in teaching, learning, and assessment. The workshop series starts on May 23, 2024, and consists of the following 3-hour modules:

Furthermore, the Rector’s Delegate for Digital Transformation in Teaching & Learning, Professor Heribert Nacken, will be hosting a Qualispecial AI in Teaching series. Every Wednesday from 12:00 noon - 12:45pm, starting May 22, 2024, RWTH instructors will report on their experiences with having students work on subject-specific tasks using Generative AI. The speakers will present best practice examples from the various RWTH faculties, discuss outcomes, and report on unexpected findings and issues. After their 30-minute presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. The speakers in the AI in Teaching Qualispecial series are Prof. Beetz (Faculty 2), Prof. Kommer (Faculty 7), Prof. Lübbecke (Faculty 8), Prof. Nacken (Faculty 3), Dr. Persike (CLS), Prof. Rumpe (Faculty 1), and Prof. Kai-Uwe Schröder (Faculty 4). All sessions are held via Zoom, registration is not required.

The upcoming ExAcT Lunch Lehre event will be all about Generative AI as well. We are looking forward to Prof. Dr. Jörn Loviscach from Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI), Department of Engineering and Mathematics, who will give a lecture on Generative AI in STEM on June 3, 2024.
