Subject: [ICCS 2006] Paper submission now disabled

Dear C. Bischof,
As the review deadline now only is one week away, I have now disabled the
registration of new papers for all workshops.
(Depending on the settings for your workshop, authors still may be able to
upload modified versions of their papers.)
I count a total of almost 1100 papers in our submission system. That means you
have been very effective in attracting authors - my congratulations on that.
It also means that indeed, we must have a low acceptance rate, which is good
for ensuring the quality of the conference, but also necessary to keep the
conference and the proceedings managable.
Kind regards,
Dick van Albada

Folks,
I have been instructed on how to do extended teleconferences. So there
should be no problem getting us all tied together on Friday at 4.30pm my
time.

Friends,
My wife has to undergo surgery (nothing extremely bad) on Wednesday. She
will be "off duty" until the weekend.
Hence, I have got to limit my presence at the office to a minimum on
Thursday and Friday. Would you mind calling me
at home (+49 2408 927424) for the telecon on Friday (4.30pm CET)?
Thanks
Uwe.

Dear Ralf,
Thanks for getting your reviews completed ahead of the deadline - indeed
ahead of anyone apart from the organisers!

Folks, I also just sent out a reminder. Let's hope the fact that most of
them got multiple reminders will motivate our dear colleagues. Best

Mike Giles wants us to confirm the June 1st workshop and let him know of a general interest AD speaker for the 14:00 slot to coincide with Oxford's weekly seminar slot.
Would you please nominate a "distinguished" AD speaker, likely to be at ICCS Reading, who could present a 50 minute talk suited to a general (well Oxford's numerical analysis and applied maths community!!) mathematics audience. Obviously we want someone to do a good job of representing us.
I'll collate suggestions and then liase with the EuroAD committee and Mike.

Shaun,
Are we confirmed for this workshop on June 1st?
Do we have any names of speakers yet? I was asked today whether there
will be a "general interest" keynote speaker at 2:00 so the talk can
also play the role of being one of our regular Thursday 2:00 Numerical
Analysis seminars -- you'll remember that Nick Trefethen raised that
suggestion.
Cheers,
Mike

Hi,
I cc'ed you on the reminder mail that I just sent off to all
reviewers of the papers assigned to me. At least that was
my understanding of how we are going to do this. If you
want me to send the reminder to all reviewers let me know.

Dear Colleague,
As you may recall, the due date for the reviews for the
ICCS AD workshop is the 19th of January which is just a week
from now. The organizing committee will meet on the 20th,
and inform the authors on that same day to give them
sufficient time for revisions. For that reason it is
important that all reviews be submitted in time. If you encounter
any problems please contact the organizing committee.
I hope to hear from you soon :-)
Regards,
Jean

Can we make it 16:30 German time, equating to 15:30 UK and 09:30 in
Chicago. I have a meeting which will struggle to finish earlier and this
allows for Chris's meeting to overrun a little.
Please check I have times correct based on 16:30 Germany.
