Hello Madam or Sir,
I am the user of OpenMesh, and I want ask some questions about the parallel code with OpenMesh, exactly, the parallel code is based on OpenMP on the VS2013.
The first question: When I use the OpenMP on the VS2013 to speed up the program which write with OpenMesh, for example, I add the code: #pragma omp parallel for num_threads(7) , just like the following:
and the errors follow, and I do not know why.
and the second question: Could the code with iterator of OpenMesh be paralleled by OpenMP just like " for (TriMesh::FaceIter f_it = mesh.faces_begin(); f_it != mesh.faces_end(); f_it++) " in the above picture? or How can I parallel the code with iterator of OpenMesh?
Thank you for your time! And I am looking forward to your reply.
Sincerely
LuWang
Hi,
today we released OpenMesh 8.0.
This release now relies on compilers supporting C++11 or higher.
Therefore Visual Studio 2013 is no longer supported.
The major upgrade in this release is the integration of an Eigen3
wrapper providing a direct replacement of the integrated vector type
(Vec3d/Vec4d). You can now use Eigen3 vectors as the basic data type
inside OpenMesh.
We also improved several readers and writers. Furthermore the new
SmartTagger class has been added which can be used to tag primitives in
the mesh while providing an O(1) reset of the tagging.
Next to this, we removed the glut requirement from the apps.
As usual the full change log is available on our website:

Hello,
I am an undergraduate student at Arizona State University and I'm trying to
do research using OpenMesh. I am just starting to learn how to compile and
build projects and I had a few questions I was hoping you could answer.
1.) Do I need to compile OpenMesh first using Cmake or can I start with
the tutorial, "OpenMesh: How to create your own project using OpenMesh"?
They both seem to be doing the same thing.
2.) When I follow the steps to build a cube and use cmake it converts the
source file into a bunch of vcxproj.filters files. Is this normal?
3.) How can I actually view the output of the cube? Is it possible to open
the cube in visual basic, and compile it in there?
Thanks in advance,
William
