I would like to bring to your attention two announcements regarding DAAD-sponsored programming. As some of the deadlines associated with these calls for applications have been fixed in the not-so-distant future, you are receiving this information by email.
1. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s (BMBF) campaign to promote Germany as a hotspot of innovation and research invites domestic educational and research institutions to serve as representatives of the German delegation at the 2012 PhD Workshop China. Participation in the workshop by selected institutions will be coordinated and financed by the DAAD.
A career fair of sorts, the event is designed to attract highly qualified doctoral students from the top 60 universities in China. The attendees of the workshop are in the process of applying for a full scholarship to conduct a research stay abroad.
A matchmaking tool would allow you to establish contact with potential candidates in advance of the event, thereby enabling the exchange of desired information and arrangement of on-site appointments (such that interviews could be carried out during the event).

There are a limited number of funding opportunities available; this financial support will be assigned based upon the date of receipt of an institution’s application.

2. The DAAD has (re-)posted fifteen programs with application deadlines that fall between August 18 and December 1, 2012. One program being announced for the first time, “STEP-TNB,” is a supplement to the current offer, “German Study Programs Abroad.”
Programming is divided equally between two categories: “Internationalization of Learning and Teaching” and “Internationalization of Research and Doctoral Training.”

ich freue mich, Sie heute auf zwei wichtige Ausschreibungen des DAAD aufmerksam machen zu dürfen. Aufgrund der teilweise knappen Antragsfristen erhalten Sie diese Informationen heute per Email.
1. Der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) organisiert und finanziert im Rahmen der BMBF-Initiative „Werbung für den Innovations- und Forschungsstandort Deutschland“ den gemeinsamen Auftritt deutscher Hochschulen und Forschungsinstitutionen beim PhD Workshop China 2012. Es handelt sich um eine zweitägige Karriereveranstaltung zur Gewinnung hochqualifizierter chinesischer Doktoranden. Interessenten sind Graduierte der 60 Spitzenhochschulen Chinas, die sich in der Bewerbungsphase um ein Vollstipendium befinden und einen Forschungsaufenthalt im Ausland planen.
Ein Matchmaking-Tool ermöglicht es Ihnen bereits im Vorfeld der Veranstaltung mit potenziellen Kandiaten/innen in Kontakt zu treten und Gesprächstermine zu vereinbaren, um dann gezielte Informations- und Bewerbungsgespräche vor Ort zu führen.

2. Der DAAD schreibt fünfzehn Programme neu aus. Antragsfristen: zwischen 15.08.2012 und 01.12.2012
Erstmals ausgeschrieben wird das Programm „STEP-TNB“, eine Ergänzung zum Programm „Studienangebote deutscher Hochschulen im Ausland“.
Die Programme verteilen sich gleichmäßig auf die beiden Kategorien: „Internationalisierung von Studium und Lehre“ und „Internationalisierung von Forschung und Doktorandenausbildung“.
