The *** real *** virus damage

Dear all, I apologize for the delay in distributing some messages for the TC6 list. Indeed, if the message has too many bits or if it comes from a nonmember then I have to decide whether to redistribute it or not. By the end of last week we suffered from the consequences of the ILOVEYOU virus; I got one such message (and I'm quite proud of having received such a status symbol!) but I was not in danger since I'm still working with a Mac ;-) The *** real damage *** provoked by the virus came from some extremely stupid actions in our computer center where several overly motivated (but not so experienced) people decided to install a virus filter which was so strong that practically no emails at all came trough for three days. To my firm opinion, the absolutely vast majority of damages is provoked by such stupid actions rather than by the virus itself. TC6 Meting in Paris.

Dear all, Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Paris meeting due to consulting commitments. The TC6 meeting 2001/1 has been finalized and will be after Africom 2001 in Cape Town: TC 6: 30-31 March 2001 and Africom2001 with ICCC on 27-29 March 2001. We have formed an organizing committee and the programme committee will be formed soon. Call for papers will also go out soon. Farouk has offered his services to assist with the conference and programme. A venue has been booked and further details will be forwarded to you as soon as it has been finalized. Augusto, can you please send me the ICCC contact details in order for me to get them involved as well. What will their role be in the this event ? Have a good meeting in Paris - I will miss you all. Next TC6 Meeting in the ENST

Dear TC6 Members The next TC6 Meeting will be held in the ENST Satudar 13 and Sunday 14. The meeting will start at 14.00 pm and will end at Sunday 18.00. We will take the Sunday lunch in the ENST. The room place is "Salle des Conseil". Because the meeting will be held in a weekend time the main gate at 46 Rue Barrault will be closed. The only open access to the ENST is at 49 Rue Vergniaud which is parallel to Rue Barrault.
