Dear TC6 Members and WG Chairs,
a few issues to be shared with you since our past TC6 Meeting in May:
1. The new TC6 mailing lists will be established as soon as the Summer
break is over, since personnel needed to make that happen has to be back.
2. Jordi did hand-over the IFIP Networking SC chair's position to
Andrea, while keeping the Networking 2020 preparations until end of
2019. Thanks to the two!
3. WG officers already elected may run their positions until the end of
term, while their country may have decided to leave IFIP in the
meantime. Re-elections will not be possible.
4. The TC6 budget for 2020 had been compiled based in individual WG
chair to TC6 chair interactions. Thanks for all inputs.
5. Due to a number of e-mails exchanges and phone telcos run, there is
the suggestion to organize before the Paris TC6 meeting in June a first
2020 TC6 meeting in early 2020, which should address the following
highly relevant topics specifically:
a) Proceedings' publication options for IFIP TC6 events
b) Discussion of needs on the financial dimension for IFIP events
c) The future path of IFIP Networking (TC6 Flagship Event)
Thus, if there will be a sufficient number of TC6 members and WG chairs
available to attend this meeting, we can start organizing it.
Please indicate to me or the TC6 list, whether (a) you would attend
potentially, (b) you could host that meeting, and (c) you like to extend
the agenda by topic "X". Based on this feedback, we will run a Doodle to
determine the most suitable date, time, and location. Deadline for these
indications is Monday August 12, 2019 at 7am CEST.
May I ask you additionally - as a reminder - to check on open Action
Points from the May TC6 Meeting, which are under your control? The
respective working documents are located as usual at
http://ifip.run.montefiore.ulg.ac.be/start#minutes_of_tc6_meetings.
Please get back to me with the respective replies and information. Thank
you.
