Adrian Cronauer's "Good Morning, Vietnam" can be heard every morning in the military camps everywhere from the Mekong delta to Huë, as this is how the boldest radio show on US-Army broadcast starts its program of comedy and Rock'n'Roll. Soldiers are enthused, however Cornauer's superior's are not: Crobauer constantly tries to work his way around censorship. Privately, he falls in love with Trinh which leads to more difficulties in the strict Vietnamese culture, making Cronauer end up standing between all fronts.
