We are pleased to announce our first International Event IT'S MINE.
You are going to learn how to protect your computer, yourself and your
data. You will find out that just software security sometimes isn't
enough. We will show you how hackers do it and how to protect your data
and communications with encryption. There is also going to be a <<gaming
day>> in the middle, where you'll be able to play some retro games like
Pac-man, Mario, (C64). Right before the end we will have a contest where
you'll have to show us what you've learned during the workshop.

event in period from Sunday 24th to Sunday 31st of May!
This years workshop ("Chupakraba Electrico") main theme is "Robotics,
a synergy of mechanics, electronics and software". This includes
presentations about robotic arms, mobile robots, submarine robots,
flying robots and wind turbines all held by leading experts in these
areas. The workshop is organized in co-operation with IEEE (lecturers
are all esteemed members of IEEE) and participation will earn you 1
ECTS point.

Organizing LC: Trieste

Title: Exchange - Wake Up With Bavisela 2009!

EESTECers from all around Europe... what you are reading is for true! LC Trieste is finally going to have its first event ever, as promised during last year's Congress in Ljubljana & Rijeka. First of all, let us point out that we'll be requiring a small participation fee, due to our limited budget, of 20€ for each person. We'll try to reduce it by doing some fund raising, but we can't say that this reduction will happen for sure, so at the moment please consider this participation fee. Now on with the good part, which is all the rest!
We are debuting with an exchange, with which we'll show you our beautiful area, and we'll offer you our hospitality by hosting you in our homes, so you'll be able to feel how real life is here in Trieste. We'll show you what our land has to offer: tough history, with both a concentration camp (Risiera di San Sabba) and the foibe (Foibe di Basovizza), amazing natural places like the Grotta Gigante (the world's largest tourist cave) and the Miramare natural park with its castle, festivities and concerts around May Day (workers' day), and of course the beautiful Adriatic town of Trieste. On May 3rd there will also be the Bavisela, a non-competitive 7km marathon, which is very famous and one of the biggest appointments of the year in Trieste. We'd like to participate to this marathon, hopefully you'll agree participating too! Of course this is not mandatory, but you could still take part just walking while drinking a beer. Speaking of beer, of course, being this an EESTEC event, parties won't be missed! :-)
