--- English version below --- Liebe Interessierte, Unser nächstes offenes Treffen ist nächsten Mittwoch, 31.07.2019, ab 19:30 im S06 (CARL Hörsaalzentrum). Du hast einen interessanten Artikel gelesen und moechtest die Kernpunkte nicht sofort wieder vergessen? Jedes Mal wenn du einkaufen gehst, vergisst du was du unbedingt kaufen wolltest? Vielleicht moechtest du auch einfach nicht mehr dauernd Namen und Daten vergessen? Dafuer gibt es Mnemotechniken! Bei unserem naechsten Treffen wird Marcel aus der Lokalgruppe einen kurzen Vortrag uber Techniken halten, mit denen man sich Dinge leichter im Gedächtnis behählt. Diese Techniken werden wir dann auch gemeinsam üben und im Anschluss gibt es noch genügend Zeit sich über Effektiven Altruismus auszutauschen oder über andere spannende Themen zu reden! Wenn ihr Interesse an dem Thema habt oder ihr nur über Philosophie oder Rationalität quatschen wollt, kommt einfach vorbei und lernt die Lokalgruppe kennen! Wir freuen uns auf euch! You've read an interesting article and don't want to forget everything right away? Every time you go shopping, you forget what you actually wanted to buy? Maybe you also just want to stop forgetting names and dates all the time? That's what memory techniques are for! At our next meetup, Marcel from the local group will give a short talk on techniques to facilitate memorization. We will then practice these techniques together on several examples. Afterwards, there will be plenty of time to chat about effective altruism and talk about other interesting topics. Was: Diese Woche wollen wir formales Debattieren näher kennenlernen, genauer British Parliamentary Style (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Parliamentary_Style). Dazu wird es erst eine kurze Einführung geben, was das genau ist, wie eine Debatte abläuft und warum diese so praktiziert werden. Dann wollen wir auch schon direkt über das Thema altern debattieren und welche Vor- und Nachteile es hat, wenn Menschen immer länger leben. Wenn du mitdebattieren willst, solltest du dir die beiden untenstehenden Artikel anschauen. Wenn du nur zuhören möchtest, weil dich das Thema interessiert, kannst du natürlich auch gerne vorbeikommen. --- English version below --- Liebe Interessierte, Unser nächstes offenes Treffen ist diesen Mittwoch, 17.07.2019, ab 19:30 im S06 (CARL Hörsaalzentrum). Hast du jemal mit einem Freund diskutiert und ihr habt euch am Ende nur nach angeschrien, ohne das wirkliche Problem zu lösen? Damit das nicht mehr passiert, gibt es die Rationalitätstechnik 'double crux'. In double crux versuchen du und dein Diskussionspartner die dem oberflächlichen Problem zugrundeliegende Meinungsverschiedenheit aufzudecken. Das führt zu einer besseren Konfliktlösung und zu einem besseren Verständnis für sein Gegenüber. Bei unserem nächsten Treffen werden wir double crux einführen und dann in Partnerübung üben. Ever argued with a friend about a hot topic and ended up only shouting at each other, not resolving the issue at hand? Not anymore, thanks to the rationality technique 'double crux'. In double crux, you and your discussion partner aim to find the real underlying disagreements that fuel the conflict on the surface. This leads predictably to higher conflict resolution and understanding of the other party's goals. We will introduce double cruxing and then practice it in pairs at our next meet-up. --- English version below --- Liebe Interessierte, Bei unseren EA Workout Treffen steht die eigene Produktivität und Auseinandersetzung mit dem Effektiven Altruismus im Mittelpunkt. Ihr wollt euch über Philosophie unterhalten? Oder über einen interessanten Artikel oder ein spannendes Buch reden? Diesen Blogpost lesen, den ihr schon immer mal lesen wolltet aber keine Zeit hattet? Vielleicht wollt ihr auch in eurer persönlichen Entwicklung weiterkommen und eure Projekte in einer angenehmen Umgebung voranbringen. So oder so seid ihr bei unseren Treffen gut aufgehoben. Wir treffen uns am Mittwoch 10.7. im C.A.R.L. Hörsaalzentrum im Seminarraum S06, von 18:30 bis 21:00 Die Treffen sind offen für alle. Also auch wenn ihr noch nie vom Effektiven Altruismus gehört habt könnt ihr gerne vorbeischauen! "Wie kann ich mit meinen begrenzten Ressourcen möglichst viel Gutes tun?" Diese Fragestellung versucht der effektive Altruismus zu beantworten. Das heißt: "Welche Probleme sind wichtig? Welche sind vernachlässigt? Wo kann ich am meisten bewirken?" Wenn ihr Interesse am Effektiven Altruismus habt oder ihr nur über Philosophie oder Rationalität quatschen wollt, kommt einfach vorbei und lernt die Lokalgruppe kennen! Wir freuen uns auf euch!
