in diesem Newsletter erfahren Sie mehr über die kommende Umfrage zur Nutzung von Coscine sowie über vergangene und kommende Veranstaltungen, zu denen wir Sie herzlich einladen. Außerdem erhalten weitere Informationen über aktuelle Entwicklungen.
Umfrage zur Nutzung von Coscine
Im April ist Coscine seit einem Jahr im Regelbetrieb an der RWTH Aachen University. Zu diesem Anlass arbeiten wir gerade an einer Nutzendenumfrage, um Feedback zur Plattform zu erhalten. Voraussichtlich Ende April kann die Umfrage in einem
Zeitraum von zwei Wochen beantwortet werden. Nähere Informationen werden Sie sowohl auf der Webseite von Coscine als auch über den Newsletter erhalten. Bereits jetzt können Sie sich Gedanken darüber machen, inwiefern Sie mit der Nutzung von Coscine zufrieden
sind oder welche Verbesserungsvorschläge Sie haben. Jedes Feedback hilft uns, die FDM-Plattform zu verbessern und wir freuen uns sehr, wenn Sie im April an der Umfrage teilnehmen.
Veranstaltungen
Letzten Monat hat erneut der Basis-Workshop zu Coscine im Rahmen des FDM-II Moduls der RWTH Aachen stattgefunden. Knapp 30 Teilnehmende erfuhren mehr über die Funktionen der FDM-Plattform und hatten in der anschließenden Hands-on-Session
ausreichend Zeit, um diese auszuprobieren. Die Teilnehmenden nutzten außerdem die Möglichkeit, um Fragen zu stellen und Feedback zur Nutzungsfreundlichkeit der Plattform zu geben. Die Rückmeldungen berücksichtigen wir gerne und versuchen diese bestmöglich
umzusetzen.
In der ersten Märzwoche wurde Coscine außerdem auf der Vizepräsidenten-Konferenz der Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaft (HAWs) präsentiert. In der Präsentation wurde der aktuelle Stand der Entwicklungen rund um das Coscine.nrw Projekt
vorgestellt. Im Anschluss daran wurden Fragen, unter anderem zum Onboarding-Prozess der einzelnen Hochschulen, geklärt.
Zudem fand vom 18. März bis 20. März 2024 die FDM-Werkstatt in Aachen statt, bei der es eine Session zur Verknüpfung von Coscine und DataLad sowie eine Fragestunde mit den Coscine Entwickler*innen gab. Einen Nachbericht mit allen Details

Nächsten Monat können Sie sich auf mehrere Veranstaltungen freuen, bei denen Coscine präsentiert wird. Einerseits am 5. April von 11 bis 12 Uhr bei den HeFDI Data Talks und andererseits am 9. April bei der HPC.nrw Coffee Lecture von 10
bis 12 Uhr. Zudem veranstalten wir am 22. April ein Nutzendentreffen im Rahmen des Coscine.nrw Projektes. Zu diesem sind FDM-Personal, Data Stewards und auch „Key“-Nutzende von Coscine eingeladen. Wenn Sie also Wünsche zu Verbesserungen in Coscine haben, nehmen
Sie gerne Kontakt zum FDM-Team Ihrer Hochschule/Institution auf und leiten die Veranstaltung an entsprechende Personen weiter.

Sonstiges
Coscine-Flyer
Um die wichtigsten Informationen zu Coscine übersichtlich darzustellen, wurde ein Flyer entworfen. Falls Sie die Gelegenheit haben, uns bei einer der kommenden Veranstaltungen in Präsenz anzutreffen, werden Sie die Flyer dort mitnehmen
können. Andernfalls arbeiten wir aktuell außerdem an einer digitalen Version, die auch von anderen Hochschulen und Fachhochschulen genutzt werden kann.
Contributing Repository
In einem der vorherigen Newsletter haben wir Sie bereits auf die Coscine Community Features [3] aufmerksam gemacht. Dort können Sie als passionierte Nutzende Best-Practices mit der gesamten Coscine-Community teilen, wie beispielsweise ein
selbsterstelltes Skript zum automatisierten Hochladen von Dateien. Zusätzlich dazu haben wir nun ein Repositorium in GitLab erstellt, in dem Sie Anleitungen und Richtlinien zum Beitragen finden. Schauen Sie sich diese gerne an und wir freuen uns auf zahlreiche
Kollaborations-Beiträge.
Registrierung bei re3data und FAIRsharing
Coscine wurde sowohl bei Re3data [4] als auch bei FAIRsharing.org [5] registriert. Dadurch ist Coscine fortan international als Forschungsdaten-Plattform besser auffindbar.

Dear Coscine users,
In this newsletter, you will find out more about the upcoming Coscine User Survey as well as past and upcoming events to which we cordially invite you. You will also receive further information on current developments.
User Survey
In April, Coscine will have been in regular operation at RWTH Aachen University for one year. To mark this occasion, we are currently working on a user survey to obtain feedback on the platform. The survey is expected
to be completed within two weeks at the end of April. You will receive more information both on the website of Coscine and via the newsletter. You can already reflect on the extent to which you are satisfied with the use of Coscine or what suggestions you
have for improvement. All feedback helps us to improve the RDM platform and we would be delighted if you would take part in the survey in April.
Events
Last month, the basic workshop on Coscine took place again as part of the RDM-II module at RWTH Aachen University. Almost 30 participants learned more about the functions of the RDM platform and had plenty of time to
try them out in the subsequent hands-on session. The participants also took the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback on the usability of the platform. We are happy to take the feedback into account and try to implement it in the best possible way.
In the first week of March, Coscine was also presented at the Vice Presidents' Conference of the Universities of Applied Sciences (HAWs). In the presentation, the current status of developments relating to the Coscine.nrw
project was presented. This was followed by clarification of questions, including on the onboarding process at the individual universities.
In addition, the "FDM-Werkstatt" took place in Aachen from March 18 to March 20, 2024, where there was a session on linking Coscine and DataLad as well as a Q&A session with the Coscine developers. You can find a follow-up
report with all the details of the sessions on the RDM blog [1].
Next month, you can look forward to several events at which Coscine will be presented. On April 5 from 11 am to 12 pm at the HeFDI Data Talks and on April 9 at the HPC.nrw Coffee Lecture from 10 am to 12 pm. We are also
organizing a user meeting on 22 April as part of the Coscine.nrw project. FDM staff, data stewards and also "key" users of Coscine are invited to attend. So if you have any requests for improvements in Coscine, please contact the RDM team at your university/institution
and forward the event to the relevant people.

Coscine-Flyer
In order to present the most important information about Coscine clearly, a flyer has been designed. If you have the opportunity to meet us in person at one of the upcoming events, you will be able to grab the flyer there.
Otherwise, we are currently working on a digital version that can also be used by other universities and universities of applied sciences.
Contributing Repository
In a previous newsletter, we already informed you about the Coscine Community Features [3]. There, as a passionate user, you can share best practices with the entire Coscine community, such as a self-created script for
automated file uploads. In addition, we have now created a repository in GitLab where you can find instructions and guidelines for contributing. Feel free to take a look and we look forward to numerous collaboration contributions.
Registration with re3data and FAIRsharing
Coscine has been registered with both Re3data [4] and FAIRsharing.org [5]. As a result, Coscine is now easier to find internationally as a research data platform.
