in diesem Newsletter halten wir Sie auf dem Laufenden über anstehende Coscine-Veranstaltungen, geben Updates zur neuen APIv2, teilen Einzelheiten zu unserer frisch gestalteten Workflow-Grafik auf der Homepage mit und informieren Sie über die Nutzung von Jards.
Veranstaltungen
Während die erste Veranstaltung „RDM platform Coscine – more than free quota!“ des RDM II-Modulars bereits am 25. Oktober 2023 erfolgreich stattfand, erinnern wir Sie gerne an die Folgeveranstaltung „Metadata Basics and Creating Application Profiles for Coscine“ am 29. November 2023 von 10 bis 12 Uhr. Am dritten Tag der Forschungsdaten am 14. November 2023 wird Coscine sowohl ab 11 Uhr im Vormittags- als auch im Nachmittagsprogramm ab 13 Uhr vertreten sein. Wir laden Sie herzlich dazu ein, uns via Zoom als auch im SuperC der RWTH Aachen University zu besuchen. Update zu APIv2
Wie bereits im letzten Newsletter berichtet, hat die Umstellung auf eine neue API-Version (APIv2) stattgefunden. Im Zuge dieser Umstellung kam es zu einigen, temporären Unannehmlichkeiten. Hierunter beispielsweise die Ressourcen-Erstellung oder auch Einschränkungen bei der E-Mail-Verifizierung. Der Großteil davon konnte bereits erfolgreich behoben werden und es wird weiterhin daran gearbeitet die Funktionen in Coscine sowie den Ablauf so reibungslos wie möglich zu gestalten. Vielen Dank für Ihr Verständnis und Ihre Geduld, während wir diese Verbesserungen vornehmen.
Workflow-Grafik
Wir möchten Sie darauf aufmerksam machen, dass auf unserer Homepage (https://about.coscine.de/) eine neue Grafik eingeführt wurde. Wir laden Sie herzlich ein, die Homepage zu besuchen und die neue Grafik zu entdecken. Diese wurde speziell entworfen, um als Orientierung für den Workflow in Coscine zu dienen. Wir hoffen, dass diese visuelle Darstellung Ihnen dabei hilft, die Funktionen und Abläufe in Coscine besser zu verstehen und effektiv zu nutzen.
Jards
Die Plattform Jards ermöglicht eine effiziente und bedarfsgerechte Verwaltung von Speicherplatz in Coscine. Seit diesem Monat nutzt nun auch die Universität Duisburg-Essen
die Plattform Jards. In Zukunft werden voraussichtlich noch weitere Universitäten diesem Organisationsablauf folgen und die Vorteile der Plattform erkennen.

in this newsletter, we keep you up to date on upcoming Coscine events, provide updates on the new APIv2, share details about our freshly designed workflow image on the website, and let you know about the usage of Jards.
Events
While the first event "RDM platform Coscine - more than free quota!" of the RDM II module was already successfully held on October 25, 2023, we would like to remind you of the follow-up event "Metadata Basics and Creating Application Profiles for Coscine" on November 29, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm. On the third Research Data Day on November 14, 2023, Coscine will be present in both the morning program starting at 11 am and the afternoon program starting at 1 pm. Update APIv2
As already reported in the last newsletter, the upgrade to a new API version (APIv2) has taken place. In the course of this upgrade, some temporary inconveniences occurred. These include, e.g., the creation of resources or restrictions in the e-mail verification. The majority of these issues are already successfully resolved and we continue to work on making the functions in Coscine and the process as smooth as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through these improvements.
Workflow Illustration
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that a new illustration has been added to our homepage (https://about.coscine.de/en/). We invite you to visit the website and discover the new illustration. Specifically, this has been designed to serve as an orientation to the workflow in Coscine. We hope that this visual representation will help you gain a better understanding of the features and workflows in Coscine and how to use them effectively.
Jards
The Jards platform enables efficient and demand-oriented management of storage space in Coscine. As of this month, the University of Duisburg-Essen is now also using the Jards platform. In the future, more universities are expected to follow this organizational flow and realize the benefits of the platform.
