Hello Eike,
unfortunately there is no newer version. An alternative is to use the pre-installed Virtual Machine available for download.
I cc: compass-support, in case some colleagues have additional suggestions.

we are currently evaluating the COMPASS toolset in order to get a better understanding of the state-of-the-art.
Unfortunately, the version 3.0 from 2016 does not run on current versions of Ubuntu anymore (due to gtk2 being deprecated on those platforms).
Is there a more recent version of the toolset which we could try?
