Dawn in Havana.
The city wakes up and a new day and the film begin,
Why a day in Havana?
Because Havana today is a point of reference to many, a mystery to others, and a dream full of contradictions and contrasts to those who love or criticize it.
But Havana is not only a space, a sonority, a light.
Havana is its people.
"Suite Habana" is a simple day in the life of ten ordinary people of Havana.
There are neither interviews, nor dialogues, nor narration; only images, sounds and music to express on film the everyday events of a peculiar and unique reality.
Each of the characters represents the curious diversity of the social groups
   found in the city.

  For Julio del Toro, the world is fine just as it is.  Some years ago, he won the Casa de las Americas award with his first novel and, from then on, he travels about the world lecturing on Cuban literature.  Miriam, his wife, loves him.  Milly, his teen age daughter, respects him.  Silvia, his lover, is always ready for him.  Julio has found his niche in Cuba at the beginning of the millennium and he carefully evades any decision that might endanger his comfort.

Once, when returning from Europe, he finds his world upside down.  His daughter, his lover, his wife have made or are about to make decisions he evades; his second novel, after ten years of literary silence, does not seem to follow on the successful steps of the first;
                                 his friends are no longer so much his friends and his enemies will begin to be enemies.
Julio is carried away... to hell... and back.
