Japan series hot at European Markets
Mipcom and Mifed brought solid European sales with keen interest in Japanese horror series MPD-PSYCHO (Dir. Takashi Miike) and MAIL (Dir. Iwao Takahashi). MPD-PSYCHO was picked up by Pathe for France, SAV for Spain and E-M-S for Germany. E-M-S also bought MAIL

GRUDGE shocks with $40m opening
Horror sensation THE GRUDGE hit theatres in N. America again this weekend. This time it was Sarah Michelle Gellar in the American version of Japan's hit franchise. Box office hit $40 million far exceeding expectations. THE GRUDGE was originally shot as two straight to video features and later made into a theatrical feature and sequel. Original Producer Taka Ichise co-Produced with Sam Raimi and others and Director Takashi Shimizu was asked back to re-make his own film.
