European Film Awards 2005 will take place Saturday, December 3, in Berlin
 
- European Film Academy Awards nominees revealed 
- European Film Academy Documentary Award revealed
- Public to vote for the Jameson People's Choice Awards, vote open on EFA website.
- EFA short list of 46 features from Europe has been announced
- Maurice Jarre tribute to be given during EFA in Berlin
- Sir Sean Connery will receive a life-time EFA award in Berlin

THE SECOND DUBAI FILM FESTIVAL December 11 - 17, 2005
The second Dubai International Film Festival  (DIFF) will be hosted in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
by Dubai Media City, the media free zone created by the Government of Dubai in 2001.
The festival seeks to celebrate true excellence in Arab cinema while screening films
which reflect Dubai’s cosmopolitan and multi-cultural character. The festival will showcase
approximately 85 films.

1) FOCAL INTERNATIONAL AWARDS: May 15, 2006, Savoy Hotel, London
The Federation of Commercial Audiovisual Libraries is a not for profit trade organization
representing footage archives, researchers, consultants and ancillary facilities serving
the footage industry worldwide. The FOCAL International Awards is an annual event
to celebrate the use of footage archive images in the creative media.
Submissions are now invited, free of charge, in 15 Award categories.

2) THE SHORTS SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL: June 3, 2006 / June 11, 2006
Japan’s best festival for short films, is now accepting submissions for its 2006 competition.
Filmmaker friendly, no entry fee, each year several filmmakers are invited roundtrip to Tokyo.
Academy Awards ® accredited festival. International deadline is November 1st,
National and Asian deadline is December 20th, 2005.

3) THE PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL:  April 20-27, 2006
The Palm Beach International Film Festival is a 501(3)(c) not for profit organization
supporting film programs in local schools and dedicated to making a difference in the
lives of future filmmakers by helping them fulfill their dreams to one-day work in the
world of film. Proceeds generated each year are donated to schools, in the form of
grants and scholarships, to provide new technologies.

4) RIFF Awards 2006 & Rome Film Market: 24-31 March 2006
CALL 4 entry deadline for  the fifth edition of RIFF (Roma Independent Film Festival)

5) 26th OPORTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL: February 24th till March 4th
The Oporto International Film Festival, now going to its 26th edition, specializes in fantasy

The Festival runs now in 4 theatres (2,600 seats altogether ) and screens nearly
200 NEW feature films each  year.
