The Megahit Movies Book 2004 Edition
The new 525+ page 2004 edition analyzes The
Megahit Movies, those films which have
generated more than $250 million in North American
Box Office receipts.
It presents principles of story construction
that can be used to develop popular movies by
providing an analysis of cinematic techniques. It also
offers stimulating ideas that can be helpful in the
creative process. The book is designed for writers,
directors and producers who want to create
commercially successful films. The fundamentals of
dramatic structure, the human emotions, and the
construction of humorous characters and situations
are explained, with examples drawn from some of the
most popular motion pictures Hollywood has ever
produced.
The Foreword to the book is written by
Christopher Lockhart, Executive Story Editor,
International Creative Management (ICM) in
which he discusses what Hollywood Producers,
Agents and Studios are looking for when reading
screenplays.
Analysis of recent megahit-blockbuster movies such
as
SHREK 2, SPIDER-MAN 2, HARRY POTTER, BRUCE
ALMIGHTY, MATRIX TRILOGY, FINDING NEMO,
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and THE LORD OF THE

BEWARE THE DEAD LINE IS 30 November 2004
Send us your project before that date!!!!!
SHORT FILM CONTEST " ANOTHER LOOK"
First short film contest for the Web on intercultural dialogue:
-25 prices of 560 euros for already realised short films on intercultural dialogue. The dead line to present the films is 30 November 2004.
Read the rules 2004 on the following address:
http://www.euromedcafe.org/contest.asp?lang=ing
Selected movies will be accessible on the site www.euromedcafe.org from December 2004. The initiative is organized by Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo with the support of the European Commission (General Directorate External Relations). Around the contest the Fondazione Laboratorio Mediterraneo wants to create a forum of discussion and exchanges, a large space for meetings and debate, a Euro Mediterranean open place. The www.euromedcafe.org site is in four languages: Arabic, English, French and Italian and intends to give the word to civil society, to internauts, to authors, so that they can present us their truth, their viewpoint and thus make the intercultural dialogue between the two strands of the Mediterranean evolve. Why a contest and why through the Net? The cinema of proximity as the cinema through the Net could be considered, is an incomparable instrument to overcome misunderstandings and reinforce tolerance between people.

This biographic docudrama encompasses the life and times of the infamous Dr.
H.H. Holmes. At the height of his criminal career, H.H. Holmes designed his
labyrinthine castle of horrors in Chicago, where he rented rooms to
unsuspecting victims visiting the 1893 World's Fair. Further benefiting from
his victims, Holmes sold their skeletons to local medical schools and
universities.
Hollywood is buzzing with the Holmes story, as Tom Cruise produces a movie
based on the New York Times best seller, "The Devil in the White City" for
Paramount Pictures.

"4 STARS! Utterly compelling! Forget Freddy and Jason; H. H. Holmes was the
real deal. As a fan of both the horror and true crime genres, I've gotta be
honest: This is one of the best films of the year! Don't see it alone, and
try not to choke on your popcorn!"
- Todd D. Schwartz, CBS Radio
"Recommended!" - Video Librarian
"Innovative! Creepy! True-crime enthusiasts will relish this disturbingly
clever program." -Booklist
³A prime example of dedicated independent filmmaking² - Ain't It Cool News
"4 STARS, EXCELLENT! H.H. Holmes is absorbing throughout; showing a serial
killer who you may not have heard of, but now you will remember him well.
Reinforcements come in mighty quickly with Making of H.H. Holmes where
Borowski demonstrates in 20 minutes what Hollywood should do with the
making-of featurettes on their DVDs.² - Film Threat.com
³5 STARS, AWESOME! If I seem just a bit too effusive about just some little
serial-killer doc and its first-time director, then forgive me. But if you
spent as much time as I do watching movies as soulless as they are
expensive, then you'd recognize this low-profile, high-quality docu-thriller
as cause for high praise indeed.² - efilmcritic.com
"Audio and video quality are outstanding for an independent DVD release like
this. It's amazing to see how much effort went into every detail of this 3
year production, nothing was left to chance. Highly recommended, check it
out. - Monsters At Play.com
"It took the director-writer-producer three years to make H.H. Holmes and
his efforts were worth it. The result is a compelling documentary told with
authority and confidence." - Rue Morgue Magazine
³H.H. Holmes Manages to unnerve you more than any fictional horror movie
could ever hope to.² - Video Graveyard
