Title: BLUE FIRE
Genre: Drama/Romance/Exotic
Quotes from the press:
"Sex, Rice and Videotape" ~ New York Asian American Int'l Film Festival, 2002
"She is all Blue.." ~ New York Post Film Column, 2002
"Her films have an oddly unfamiliar and unfashionable quality. They are
peculiar, pregnant with dissonance but captivating, sexual but not erotic,
full of rage but not violent. They hover between being almost clichéd to
heavily allegorical. The characters she creates are simultaneously
stereotypes and angst-ridden individualists." ~ invAsian Journal, 2002
Log Line: Jack Chen is sent to New York to work as a delivery boy in his
uncle's Chinatown store in order to forget a bittersweet love affair. While
indulging his sadness, Jack can't help but to be drawn to his lively, but
ill-reputed, roommate, Lana Lin. After passing judgment on Lana's loose
lifestyle, Jack finds himself desiring her. However, Lana's seduction of Jack
ends up crossing over to vengefulness.

Synopsis
Matt Wolf, a 25-year-old New Yorker, has a need for doing something meaningful with his life. After reading an add in a newspaper he volunteers to work for three weeks as a counselor on a summer camp for autistic children.
Matt is in charge of Rob and Wayne, two boys from a Special Need Unit. They, like most of the other kids in the unit, can't speak. They communicate with the outside world in a way inexperienced counselors can't understand. Through patience and care Matt manages to get closer to his kids and be liked by them. That's not the case with Ernie. His rough and angry way of treating his charges leads him nowhere. He keeps provoking Matt who stands up in kids' defense.
As the camp goes on Matt gets briefly involved with Rachel, an attractive counselor who takes care of a twelve-year-old camper Jessica. Jessica is probably the greatest fan of animal cartoons and fairy tales in the world. Her favorite activity is recreating stories she has observed using her huge collection of animal figurines. Matt notices that Jessica takes a particular interest in a toy wolf and a cat she hides in various parts of the camp. He suspects that Jessica tries to communicate something to him and decides to find out the meaning behind her game. He is not aware that uncovering Jessica's secret will ultimately uncover the big secret that lies deep within himself.

Hallo Markus,
habe beschlossen, aus Kostengründen doch nicht Klettern zu fahren. Morgen
10 Uhr ist also in Ordnung. Ich hoffe zumindest, daß ich so früh aus dem
Bett komme, da heute Abend Party ist...

Unique Idea...
Unique Collection...
Unique Selection...
Epic stories, fascinating music, graceful dance and drama.
These are the ingredients of the famous Shanghai-Yue Opera, now presented for
the first time in a series of films after being forbidden by Chinese
government for over 15 years.
Dcecaed B.V. owns a unique collection of these performances and now has
the opportunity and rights to present them to a worldwide audience through a collaboration
with the Chinese Government, Chinese Broadcasting Stations and a trustfund created
for this unique art-form.
With a team of specialists Dcecaed B.V. has selected the best Shanghai-Yue Opera
films of the last 30 years and successfully restored these forgotten treasures
of Chinese culture so they can be shown to the public.
Today in most western countries 20% of the people suffer from depression
and 50% of the working people have to deal with high levels of stress. Most
of them are between 25 and 55 years of age, they are in need of social relationships,
happiness and psychological support.
Within the last years Dcecaed B.V., working together with a group of doctors specializing in western as well as eastern medicine, has done research over the effect these
operas have on the human psyche.
Our studies have shown that the combination of the traditional music together
with the philosophy of these ancient scripts and the acting and dancing of
these highly skilled performers has a calming and harmonizing effect on
the human psyche.
Watching these films allows people to relax, calm their mind and body and restore their energy.
Apart from the cultural aspect and beauty of these films, this is also an
aspect we, as a company, are interested in.
Shanghai-Yue Opera Films provide you relaxation, happiness, peacefulness, and
allow you to fully enjoy your life.
They can be enjoyed over and over again, each time revealing new meaning
of its profound philosophy, making it a new experience to watch every time.
