The first annual
Manchester Film Festival
Vermont, June 27th - 30th 2002
(please note this document will
be updated and amended weekly)
Like its renowned and respected predecessors, the Sundance Film Festival and
the Venice International Film Festival, the Manchester Film Festival [MFF]
aims to become the premiere international film festival venue in North
America on the East Coast. Conceived and founded by Vermonter Michael C.
Hill and Scotsman Alan Scott-Moncrieff, to establish the Manchester Film
Festival and promote the very best of cinema set against the natural beauty
and cultural richness of Manchester, Vermont. Hill is a former creative
executive in film development, production, and distribution and is an
award-winning playwright who has also written numerous scripts for film and
television. Scott-Moncrieff is a widely-exhibited artist and latterly a

and "Funk Off Green"; a multimedia performance piece that won a Capital
Award at the Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland.
The MFF is proud to be a vital and visible presence in Manchester's cultural
and business community. Like the film festivals in Aspen, Telluride and Park

enhance the profile, image and awareness of this bucolic area and resort
community in the eyes of the world by attracting thousands for this annual
event. The Manchester Film Festival and it's parent organization, The

HEAD GEAR FILMS is a new feature film development and production company
formed by PHIL HUNT (producer of FAST FOOD and CHUNKY MONKEY).
Development Slate this year includes:
Karma Cola:
Warren, an American, and Nitesh, an Indian, team up in an action adventure
set in India.
In hilarious yet sometimes fraught circumstances, the two of them are forced
to team up and attempt to track down Warren’s daughter. Each has their own
reasons; Warren to make up with his daughter after a lifetime of being a
self centred father; and Nitesh to retrieve a valuable photograph that will
make his career. But the politician's henchman is hot on their trail...
Unscathed:
Adaptation from soon to be best selling book (publisher: Pan MacMillan).
True story of an elite Royal Marine using his strength and ingenuity to
escape a siege in Sierra Leone.
Other Initiatives: -
Guide to Cannes
HEAD GEAR is producing a Guide to Cannes for web broadcast and inclusion on
to CD Rom for the purposes of training. Should your company be holding any
events, parties, announcements, we would be very keen to attend to record
the experience for inclusion in to the guide.
Finance
HEAD GEAR can access the best rates for Sale and Leaseback in the UK. If
you are producing a UK qualifying film, we can arrange soft finance of at
least 11%.
Should any of the above be of interest, please let me when a good time to
meet at Cannes.
During Cannes I can be reached on 0674 791 310 and will be attending for the
whole festival.
Yours sincerely,

Liebe Cannes-Fahrer,
könnt, same procedure as every year...
