To all our German speaking students: Sign up as a German tutor and help your international fellows to learn German in a nice and relaxed atmosphere.
The International Office organizes German mentoring meetings in the Humboldthaus every Friday, 1-3pm. German speaking students act as tutors to international students and provide them with additional support in learning German. You can just sit and talk about different topics, exchange interesting information about your studies or read German newspapers or other interesting texts together.
Date: Every Friday from 1 - 3 pm
Location: Humboldt-Haus (Pontstr. 41) Aachen, 2nd floor.
Fees: None (international students who want to learn German do not need to register)

Like you already did by coming to Germany, a lot of German students would like to visit a foreign country and study abroad, too. In order to give them first-hand experience, the Mechanical Engineering Student Council is looking for international students who would like to talk a little bit about their home country and maybe a bit about the academic system there. 4) INCAS invites you to join the Levante country evening
INCAS (INtercultural Centre of Aachen Students) is glad to announce the Levant country evening that will take place on the 6th of November 2018 in Humboldt Haus (Pontstraße 41) at 08:00 pm.
You are cordially invited along with your friends to this event in which you will be introduced to this region’s rich history and diverse Culture.
In addition, you will get the chance to try some of the region’s delicious food and to enjoy the atmosphere of oriental and Arab songs and music 😉.

5) Save the date! RWTH Go Abroad Fair from November 12 to 16, 2018
Do you want to widen your horizons and bolster your career opportunities? Do you want to go abroad, but still have many questions regarding requirements, options and financing? – No Problem: The RWTH Aachen International Office is hosting the 2018 Go Abroad Fair! Besides the International Office the faculties, the Career Center, the University Language Center, the Alumni Team as well as several interesting guests and organizations from outside the university are offering information and events on the topic of stays abroad.
Last, but not least: To those, who have already subscribed to the BeBuddy programme as a mentee and are waiting to be matched with a buddy: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will be matched in time, especially before the start of the winter semester, as many international students are coming to Aachen during this period and are waiting for a buddy. We will do our best to provide you with a buddy as soon as possible and thank you for your understanding should this take a little longer.

3) INCAS Wochenende “Trier” on Saturday, 27th of October
INCAS stands for INtercultural Centre of Aachen Students and is a student organization, which is financially and logistically supported by the International Office of RWTH Aachen and FH Aachen. They cordially invite you to join the INCAS trip to Trier:
In the morning, you will take the bus to Trier. After arrival, you will have a guided city tour
which will lead you through 2000 years of history. The group will visit all important sights of Trier,
such as the roman town gate Porta Nigra, the impressive Konstantinbasilica and the roman
thermal springs, the “Kaiserthermen”, once the biggest in the Roman Empire.
Afterwards, you will have time to explore Trier on your own.

3) Association for Cultural Exchange (ACE) is looking for you!
Do you want to make your student exchange special? Join ACE’s international community, share your interests and ideas with them and make new friends from all over the world!
ACE (Association for Cultural Exchange) is a student organization at the RWTH Aachen University, promoting cultural exchange between international students and local students.
What does ACE do?
At ACE, there are several ACE Mentors Groups, consisting of several international students as well as two locals. As a group, there will be several activities (which is completely dependent on the dynamics and participation within the group) such as cooking together, going out, travelling, sports etc. Of course you can also suggest ideas of your own.
But wait! That's not all: Throughout the whole semester, ACE will also have some bigger events where you can meet other members and participants from other groups as well! In the past, they celebrated Karneval together (a local festivity) and travelled to Malaga for a weekend, just to name a few.

4) RWTH Intercultural training – focus India and China
You are planning a stay abroad in China or India? You are fascinated by (one of) these countries and their rich culture? You plan to mentor a student coming from China or India? Then feel free to subscribe to the free-of-charge intercultural training with focus on India or China given by two expert trainers.
During this 2-day training, you will enhance your intercultural competence and get to know different cultural values. You can learn more about the differences and similarities between your native culture and the Chinese or Indian culture.
The first day will focus on giving you a general insight into intercultural communication. During the second day, the group will split – there will be a group focusing on China and another focusing on India. You can decide to which group you want to belong.
