Breakfast or BBQ on Friday, September 8

Dear all, our long-time group member Arkady Ellern from Iowa State University in Ames will visit us in Aachen from September 7th to 14th. His visit is a good opportunity to have a small social gathering within the group. We are planning to host a breakfast or BBQ on Friday, September 8. Whether a BBQ or breakfast is more appropriate will depend on the weather on that day. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions/preferences or if you cannot participate on that day. Arkady is an expert on X-Ray Diffraction and has a lot of experience on teaching the basics of SXRD. If you have any questions regarding XRD or want to learn how to solve crystal structures his visit is a great opportunity. Best, Marvin

Invitation to my PhD Defense and Celebration_Yushu Jiao

Dear all, I hope this email finds you well. My PhD defense is scheduled to take place on the 24th of July from 10:00 to 11:00. It would be a great honor for me to have you in attendance. To celebrate the occasion and express my gratitude for your big support, I have planned a small gathering at our kitchen immediately after the defense. I will be preparing some drinks, cakes and cookies for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, I would like to extend an invitation to join me for a celebratory lunch at Lai Thai at 13:00 pm, a Thai restaurant nearby. As I have yet to experience their cuisine, I believe it will be a good opportunity for us to try the flavors of Thai cuisine together :) Thank you once again for your support and encouragement throughout my PhD period. Hallo zusammen, aus gegebenem Anlass habe ich alle an unterschiedlichen Stellen im Laufwerk "IAC Daten" versteckte Formulare für unseren Arbeitskreis unter: FuerAlle_AGK(\\acfsIACshare)(G:)>Labor>Sicherheit>Entsorung zusammen gefasst und abgespeichert. Dies wurde ebenfalls in unserer Laborbiebel: Arbeiten im Labor 107_108 vermerkt. Nun sollte es einfacher sein, die richtigen Formulare zu finden und auszudrucken. Hallo zusammen, da die Mobilität einiger Teilnehmer in diesem Jahr etwas eingeschränkt ist, habe ich eine Museumsführung in Aachen für die Gruppe angefragt. Das Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum (https://suermondt-ludwig-museum.de/) hat uns für den 13.06. eine 60 minütige Führung zur Dauerausstellung in englischer Sprache angeboten. Die Kosten von 109 € müssten auf die Teilnehmer umgelegt werden. Da ich das Haus kenne, glaube ich, dass für jeden was dabei sein sollte. Zu klären wäre dann noch, wie der Tag vorher oder nachher gestaltet werden kann. Die Familie von Sanjit (Er, seine Ehefrau und der Sohn (10 Jahre) sollte auch mitmachen können. Bitte gebt entsprechende Vorschläge zeitnah in die Runde (akg-mail), damit alles vorbereitet werden kann.
