Hello All, I have a problem with the smartlist and was wondering if someone can help. I can get everything to work except the header and footer. No matter what I try I can't get the footer.txt to work. I took the # off in the rc.custom file at RC_LOCAL_SUBMIT_20 = rc.local.s20 I created a rc.local.s20 file and put this in it: # # Adding a disclaimer in front of every mail: # :0 fbw | cat - footer.txt Then I created a footer.txt and placed my text. It just won't work. Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks Dan

Gosh, could be any of a gadzillion things. Did you place all these files in your list directory? Did you make sure they were all terminated with unix line feeds, and not DOS/Win <CR><LF> or Mac carrage returns? Did you ser VERBOSE=ON in your rc.custom file, run it through, and check the log? Are the messages you're testing this with of type multipart/alternative from the brain-damaged Outlook Express like the messages you sent to the SmartList list (and to which I am replying), in which case the footer will be appended but you'll never be able to see it? (Personally, I'm betting that's the reason - try sending a message turning the annoying "enhanced text" OFF and see if your footer's there...anyone care to bet against this being the cause of the problem?) We'll need just a smidge more information before we can hazzard more than a guess... Charlie
