I have struggled for some time to install Smartlist on a newer machine (RH linux) but fails. The same install process works on older machines). The diagnoses seem to point to the shell (sh -> bash) problems/versions. Now we realize this new machine is 64 bit -- Is there a 64-bit Smartlist source codes available, or the current code is already 64-bit compatible? Thanks, Zhiliang

I'm running SmartList on an amd64 system (which is 64-bit) without any problem at all. If you are still trying different MTAs, try postfix. In my experience, SmartList works out of the box with postfix. Also, if you don't want to compile anything and just want a machine to run SmartList, you could also try Debian. Just do "apt-get install smartlist" and you will have SmartList working.

I've had no problems with Exim, either... Roger
